I recently had the unfortunate experience of eating here , and let me tell you, it was an absolute disaster. I had high hopes for this supposedly good establishment, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment.
Let's talk about the food—or should I say, the dangerous obstacle course they dared to call a "CHIC SNACK" . I ordered their so-called "Avocado Toast" (Guacamole, organic soft-boiled egg, pumpkin seeds, pomegranates (9 little seeds) , fresh herbs & mesclun) and to my horror, it arrived with a hidden surprise—a stone, yes, a freaking stone of about 8 mm by 5mm, hidden under the so called fresh salad. As I unsuspectingly chomped down on it, I felt like my teeth were about to shatter into a million pieces. It was like they were trying to test the strength of my dental work rather than providing a palatable meal.
When I brought this traumatic incident to the attention of the waiter, he appeared genuinely surprised and apologetic ( examining the object for more than 20 seconds) . Without hesitation, he promptly took the big stone and investigated it, showing concern for the unexpected object in my dish. He then took the plate back to the chef, promising to thoroughly investigate what went wrong with the preparation.
A few minutes later, the manager or perhaps the waiter's boss came over to our table. He appeared genuinely concerned about the incident and apologized profusely for the oversight. In an attempt to make amends, the manager kindly offered to prepare a new serving of the same dish, assuring me that they would take extra care to ensure it was free from any unwanted surprises. However, given the traumatic experience I had just endured, I politely declined the offer.
To my surprise, moments later, the waiter returned with a small plate in his hands. It was a piece of chocolate—a gesture of goodwill from the restaurant. While the chocolate couldn't erase the unpleasant memory of the stone encounter, it was a thoughtful and appreciated gesture nonetheless.
Despite the efforts made by the waiter and the manager to address the unfortunate incident with the stone in my dish that almost required an endodontic procedure, there was one major disappointment that overshadowed their goodwill: I was still expected to pay for the full dish.
I can't stress enough how crucial it is for a restaurant to prioritize the safety and satisfaction of its customers. Unfortunately, this restaurant failed miserably in this regard, and my experience there was nothing short of a dental nightmare.
In light of this harrowing incident, I urge anyone considering eating the Avocado Toast of 27 euros". The risks to your dental health and the lack of accountability for their mistakes make it a gamble not worth taking. Save yourself the pain, both physically and financially, and find a restaurant that values its customers' well-being...
Read moreWhilst the food and drinks were good we had an awful experience with the server. The short blonde woman server was unbelievably rude- starting with throwing the menus on to our table, rolling her eyes as as we ordered(ordering the glacé de Peche in French and having "peach ice tea" barked back at us). If this was not enough she abruptly told me, after slamming our hot drinks on the table, to "approach your chair closer to the table" and instantly began pushing at my chair - mine and my husbands seat was in exactly the same position as it had been when we sat down, and was located as close to the table as were the two diners two seats down. I then tried to move my chair and she began to raise her voice stating that the imaginary people next to me (no-one had been on the table next to me, before or after this encounter and there were LOTS of tables free) would not have enough space. She continued to push at my seat telling me I was taking too much space (to add I am an average size person and in the space behind me you could fit a large person). Once my seat was "approached to the table" as close as this rude server wanted she then proceeded to spread out the chairs next to me (with no customers in them) to enhance my discomfort. So overall my comfort was sacrificed for that of some non-existent costumers. I would say this was the rudest server I have ever come across. It is a shame, as all of the other staff we encountered were polite, the view of the eiffel tower was good and the food was okay. I myself will not be returning or recommending given this...
Read moreOne of the worst and most disappointing experiences I’ve ever had at a café — especially in a city like Paris that’s supposed to be known for hospitality.
I came with my wife and young son. Two more family members were joining later, so I asked for a table for five. The waiter immediately pushed us to the back, even though there were several empty tables in front. I politely asked if we could sit at one table now, and when the rest arrive, they could sit at a separate table. He said okay.
But when my family arrived, he refused to seat them — even though there were still free tables. No valid reason. Just a flat “no”. I asked for an explanation. I asked for the manager. But the same cold, rude tone continued. No attempt to understand. No respect.
Meanwhile, I clearly saw other customers coming and sitting freely. So why not us?
When I tried to explain the situation — yes, I raised my voice a little, because I was upset and confused — another waiter came over and approached me in a very unpleasant way. Aggressive body language, no sympathy, no effort to de-escalate. I was standing there with my wife and child, calmly explaining, and they treated me like I was the problem.
It honestly felt like we were being singled out — maybe because of who we are, or how we look. I wish I didn’t have to say this, but it felt like discrimination. And it was incredibly hurtful.
If you’re a visitor, a family, or someone who expects to be treated with basic respect — avoid this place. No one should feel unwelcome or judged just for trying to enjoy a coffee with...
