Came on a Sunday night with my wife on vacation. Arrived 45 min earlier before they opened at 7:00pm. Super nice staff who let people wait outside and sit. Food was amazing, and price was reasonable. Atmosphere was nicely lit with fair amount of tables. They have a wine cellar down below which still use a manpower pully system to store their tasty winery. Waiters were very nice and promptly. It is located in a street away from the crowded/touristy area so it is a lot more quiet if you prefer low key dining experience. Menu is super simple with few options if you prefer not to be overwhelmed with choices.
We had their fried octopus starter which was tender and full of rich flavor. Veal which was surprisingly a big piece of meat! It was to drool for. Then there is the duo raw fish (sea bream and salmon) which was a great combo to go for if you like marinated raw fish. Finally dessert we got the French cheese cake and apple crumble. Both were just right in terms of sweetness. We were shocked how good the cheese cake turned out. Not typical icey cheese cake, but soft almost like whipped cream texture. Delicious! Sat for 2.5 hours and never rushed by the waiters since it their culture to let people take their time to enjoy the food/social. Much appreciate their service and kindness!
We would totally recommend this lovely restaurant to others who love to enjoy a quieter atmosphere in Paris with great quality French food and service!
Merci! We saved this on our map and will come back again the next time we...
Read moreWe stayed overnight in Paris this summer and was travelling South via the Gare de lyon in the morning so was hoping to find a good restaurant nearby for a quick meal. Chez Madamaiselle stood out in the reviews so we reserved a table no problem. As soon as we walked in we were immediately made welcome by front of house and shown to our table and drink orders taken in double quick time. Our waiter Matthew then went into overdrive chatting to us constantly in perfect English even though the place was packed he still had loads of time for us with lots of fun banter. We both had the mouth watering steak entrecote, we both attacked the food so fast we forgot to take pics as we usually do. 10 out of 10 for the main, the wine accompaniment was spot on to again to Matthew's suggestion. We chose a cheesecake desert and then to our surprise Matthew dumped a huge pot of Mascapone down on the table for us to dive into, which we obviously devoured, after desert we were treated to a couple of FREE aperitifs from the bar and more great conversion from the top class staff...We didn't want to leave the place was so buzzy and welcoming. Can't wait for next year because we're definitely heading back to Chez Madamaiselle... Big Thanks to all we had a...
Read moreI thought this was a very nice restaurant. The ingredients were very fresh and the presentation was thoughtful. The service was great, with a very welcoming staff. It has a very romantic atmosphere with soft candlelight, cute decor, and nice fixtures. We had dinner here at 19:30 before a 21:30 show at 38Riv and the pacing was very amenable for this situation. We got the dorade ceviche, seared octopus, côte of veal, and seared tuna. The portions were good for all dishes. Our overall favorite was the ceviche, it had a nice creamy character to it that we were not expecting. The other dishes were also good. The octopus was nice, almost like a small salad with a bit of vinaigrette. The veal was well cooked but a bit unseasoned along with the side (I did think the jus helped). The tuna was good. Perfect mashed potatoes and veggie accomplishments, but the tuna could have gone for another minute or so in my opinion to get a better crust (the sides were still a bit raw). The wine list was all local and exactly what we were hoping for. A bit more polished mains and I'd give it 5 stars. Overall good, I'd give it...
