Il Duca — Restaurant in Paris

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COST!!! THE STAFF HERE ARE RACIST!

My family (Asian) entered the restaurant to no staff members in sight. When the owner behind the counter saw us, he made no effort to come and greet us! We waited a bit longer and the owner finally came to us and said "Sorry, we don't have room for you" We pointed out that half the restaurant was empty, to which he said they are "fully booked". Luckily (Or Unluckily) we spotted a table leaving to which he had no choice but to set the table for us.

When we sat down, I ordered a pasta meal and it was god awful! It was bland, dry and tasteless! I would have preferred dog food! (Not joking) During the meal, the owner was staring at us making our experience very very uncomfortable. We felt alienated and unwanted. The waitress came over and took the plate off me before I was even finished! (The insanity!) I politely asked her to put the plate down as I was not finished and she slammed the plate down in front of me, knocking the cutlery off the plate! Utter garbage!

I informed the manager of this atrocity to which he replied "This lady is a very sweet person, if you don't like it you can leave" They failed to salvage any respect from me for this place! I was disgusted to say the least!

I only gave it a 1 star BECAUSE I CAN'T GIVE...

What a truly amazing little find in an area that is essentially a tourist trap. We stumbled across this little gem of a restaurant whilst trying to find a lunch spot off the beaten track and oh my goodness....did we get lucky when we found Il Duca.! We were treated to absolutely outstanding food and fabulous personalised friendly service. My husband had the gnocchi which was the best we've ever tasted.I had two starters, the prawns and the bruschetta and I can truly say both were absolutely delicious. As the restaurant don't have a 'kids menu' per say, the chef came out to our table and asked us what we would like him to cook for our kids... he did an amazing rigatoni with a tomato sauce for fussy eater no 1 and he did a truly amazing chicken and pommes frites for fussy eaters no 2 and 3... the chicken he did was in what I would describe as a beautifully light tempura type batter and it was just amazing. The lady waiting our table could not have been more friendly and helpful and refilled the bread basket for the children 4 times...yes...4 times!!! ....at no additional cost. I would give this restaurant 6 stars if it was an option. Definitely the most civilised, delicious, relaxing family lunch we've had possibly ever had as...

Absolute Disaster! STAY AWAY from this place! I was supposed to be charged €39, but they shamelessly took €390 from me. Total scam!! Emails are completely ignored - no response, no willingness to fix anything. This is outright fraud! Anyone who eats/drinks here is being blatantly ripped off. A complete tourist trap! It’s unbelievable that a place like this still exists.

Unbelievable! We have clear evidence, as can be seen in the photo and the debit note. How can we be accused of lying? It is clear to see that this happened in your restaurant on 30.09.2024. It’s not our fault that you have your bookkeeping under control. Everyone who eats here is being ripped off mercilessly!

And where is the proof? Ridiculous! I have clear proof that we were there that day, including the charge on the Visa card, or doesn't the tax office know that you officially open on Monday?
