Léon Restaurant - Porte Maillot — Restaurant in Paris

I was staying at the Le Meridien hotel next door, and this was my quick option for dinner one evening. It was not bad at all, surprisingly, given that there is a chain of these across the city.

I had the Moules Frites dinner set menu, and I chose a salmon rillette and a beverage. My travel buddy had the burger.

Nothing spectacular, but it definitely hit the spot if you're hungry. The salmon rilletes or served in a little plastic sauce cup with a side of sliced baguette. Nothing in particular to write home about on the item. The Moules Frites came in a large pot and I was able to eat more than my Phil. I barely could touch the fries. My buddy enjoyes the burger and fries.

I'd say, if this is one of your few choices in the area, go for it! Definitely beats McDonald's and some of the other establishments in the area. A good, filling, cheap meal while still giving you the feeling of...

Was served by a waiter that was horrible. He was a tall white/middle eastern guy with brownish/black hair. Firstly during the service, when we ordered food for sharing and wanted smaller personal plates. He mentioned that only large plates were available. I find it unbelievable given that this is a large restaurant with full food service available. Secondly, when I was returned my change. He gave me 1 euro lesser to which I didn’t mind as it was only one euro. What was frustrating to me was after I walked back to the hotel I realized one of my 10 euro notes was instead a 10 Turkish lira, which is 50x lesser value. It was obvious he was out to scam tourists as the notes look similar but it should be obvious to a native and someone in the service industry. HORRIBLE SCAM. Avoid...

Mussels are amazing but the service is terrible. I ordered creamy mushroom mussels XXL to go with a glass of wine, mussels came in a timely fashion but I waited and waited for the wine. It finally came AFTER I had finished my mussels so naturally, I told the waitress to send it back as I am done with my meal. She proceed to tell me it would be no charge and insisted me keeping the wine despite my effort to tell her repeatedly that I was done with my food. When the bill came, there was a discrepancy and of course the wine was on it. She gave me the biggest eye roll and muttered something in French before she took off for another 10 mins just to give me a revised receipt. Would NOT recommend this place, will never go...
