We are tourists traveling alll the way from Florida came to this place looking for the local traditional experience and boy were we in for a surprise... the minute we came in they made us feel uncomfortable by making a joke in French and then laughing at us once they realized we didn't speak much French, then my stomach starts to turn and I didn't want to eat much so my fiancee orders and she ask what I am eating- I tell her I am not feeling well and that I would have some of my fiancées' food... the owner becomes aware we only ordered an appetizer, wine entree, dessert and decides to shout across the tables and say that we can't sit at his restaurant if only one is eating (all of it in French) I tell him in my broken French that I'm sorry but I am not feeling well and he says that he doesn't care but I need to order an appetizer and a dessert- all this while still shouting across the tables. I was in utter shock and was at a loss for words, my eyes filled up and my fiancée saw how upset I was and got up and said we should leave... the waitress had already poured the wine so my fiancée offered to pay as I walked right to the door. The owner aske why we were leaving and he told him that he made us feel uncomfortable and was quite rude, the owner didn't flinch took the money for the wine and we left... no apology, nothing but rudeness and arrogance! WORST experience ever!

The couple next to us had their hands over their faces the entire time in disbelief what the owner was saying.

If you aren't a local or speak good French don't go here and definitely not if you aren't...

Situated along the wiggly rue des Trois Frères, this restaurant is in the heart of the picture-perfect Montmartre village. Just minutes from the steps of Sacré-Cœur cathedral, in an area known for tourist trap restaurants offering bland cuisine at elevated prices, l’Annexe is a real breath of fresh air. Its cheerful red façade stands out along the café- and boutique-lined street, whilst inside the décor is simple and cozy with mahogany brown tables and soft lighting. The service is excellent—friendly and fast—and several quirky touches add to its charm. The fresh bread is served in a paper bag, boulangerie style; desserts come in jam jars; and each table is home to a brightly-colored piggy bank with a crazy hairstyle to put your tips in should you be so inclined. Here the emphasis is on fine French cuisine, with a twist. Expect quality cuts of meat, and creative side dishes such as courgette tagliatelle and red pepper purée. Whilst the main courses are mostly meat-based, there are always one or two fish or vegetarian options on the menu. Be sure to save room for one of their delectable desserts. You won’t want to miss out on raspberry spring rolls with white chocolate sauce, or crème brulée with cinnamon cream. For chocoholics we can’t recommend highly enough the mousse au chocolat explosive (explosive chocolate mousse). It’s light but extremely chocolate-y, and topped with popping candy (the “explosive” part) and served with a...

As a restaurant not only are you in the food industry but costumer service industry and let me say this establishment knows nothing about costumer service!! Not only did they insult my fiancée and I on our visit to their restaurant but nearly made my fiancée cry because she didn't want to eat due to an illness. Furthermore, the owner went on to say that he didn't care if she was ill that she had to order if she was sitting in his restaurant. When we decided to leave, I got up and the grumy mean man charged me for a wine I didn't even drink and continued to be rude me. Even as I expressed my dissatisfaction, unbelievably so they continue with their rude antics. He didn't seem to care at all took my money, looked at the bill rolled his eyes and said to give him a smaller bill. They are extremely rude and unapologetic. They should understand their business also involves customer service and they need a lot of learning in this department! No costumer service skills at all!

--- Update Jan 15th, 2017 After posting a review from them on tripadvisor they attacked me on personal message while writing a nicer message in public board. Below is the personal message they sent! Really bad service, avoid the...

While vacationing in France for the first time, my family and I wanted to experience a high-end French restaurant and taste the delicacies of French cuisine we'd heard so much about. Even though we had enjoyed a French dinner the night before, I began searching for top French restaurants nearby. Most of the top 10 restaurants were very expensive, with prices well over 100€ per person. Then I found L'Annexe. The pictures of their dishes posted online looked as beautiful and visually appealing as those from the very expensive restaurants, and their reviews were excellent. The price was a pleasant surprise to me. I almost felt it was too good to be true, but we decided to give it a try. We made a reservation 40 minutes prior, walked there in 8 minutes, and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. L'Annexe is a family-friendly French restaurant offering high-value food and services. Beyond the authentic, top-notch quality of the food and the beautiful, exquisite plate presentation, the very welcoming staff and excellent prices made the experience even better. I highly recommend it. This is one of the best experiences my family and I have had in Paris so far.

A jewel in this area. Perfect dinner, great service, the waiter is super attentive, kind and he even took time to explain to us the dishes could be portioned in half for our kid, and proposing something else which was not on the menu if we liked. His english was really good ! tip-top👍. The place is cozy, the atmosphere is inviting, just go there! The dishes are elegantly and neatly presented, it is clear the chef takes his time to think how to present them. Fair proportioned. Definitely one the best dinner experiences we've had ever 👍. They adjust the dishes to the vegan version right at the moment, carefully explaining which ingredients would replace the original ones to keep the flavor of the dishes, amazing! We will wish this little jewel all the best through this difficult times.Courage! Update: we've just been there this weekend again, still as amazing, cozy and fine as the first time. It is remarkable how they keep offering the same great quality and same level of care, detail and attention on the design of their plates despite these two very difficult years! Happy to come back soon once more!!

Wow! Could not hasn't asked for a better dinner!! We were in Paris prior to our wedding and wanted to host a portion of our wedding guests for a dinner. I needed to find a reservation for 12 people, preferably online, and was able to do it through The Fork (France's OpenTable) and cross referenced with Google. L'Annexe was better than I could have hoped for. They have a small menu that regularly changes in a small space in Montmartre. We took up nearly the entire restaurant, but they treated us amazingly. All of our food came out nearly simultaneously, and the chef even came out to work with our one vegan guest so she could enjoy their food too. Had the crispy chicken skin and duck special. It was delicious. Honestly could not recommend this place more. Everyone had a great time, praised the food and service, and the bill (with lots of wine) still turned out to be really reasonable. Def worth a visit while you're in Paris!
