Pizza del Mondo — Restaurant in Paris

The food was not bad (not great, not terrible). The drinks were served in a can. The receipt was messy and handwritten (not a big deal, especially since we arrived late at night). The tabletops were paper and decor a bit cheap (again, not a reason for a low rating, just adds to the bad feeling). The low rating is because of what happened when we went to pay. I requested to pay by credit and when I did he grabbed the machine, pressed something, and the payment didn't go through (not clear if he pressed something before or after the transaction failed). When I asked to try again the servor (seemed like the owner) impatiently told us to pay by cash and walked away. I had very few euros left for my trip and I politely walked to him asking if it would be possible to try the credit card again. His friend told me to go to the atm nearby and when I told him I get charged 6 euros to pull out cash using my canadian card, he began to sermon me about travel preparations. Eventually the owner agreed to let my girlfriend try with her card (it worked) all the while complaining impatiently, and insisting that he didn't cancel the transaction (that thought hadn't crossed my mind before he brought it up). It was an unpleasant experience. The insistence on cash is suspicious to me. Combined with the paper receipt, it feels like he was trying to get himself a little tax break at the expense of...

This was outrageous. Waited for over an hour and the food was disgusting.

The waiter acted weird and awkward and was not very welcoming. When we ordered a steak from the menu, he acted like he didn’t know what it was. WE WAITED FOR OVER AN HOUR. When the first pizza came, we waited another half hour for the rest of the food even though they told us 3 minutes and after that 10 minutes. The steak then came and it was shocking. The potatoes were pulled straight out of the freezer. The steak was ordered medium but came more than well done - it was hard and dry as rock. And have they even heard of ingredients? Besides the meat tasted old. The sauce was straight up disgusting. Cream mixed with pepper is NOT pepper sauce.

Do NOT let the positive reviews fool you!! This is straight food...

I had high hopes for this Italian restaurant, but unfortunately it was quite disappointing. I ordered two pizzas – a Vegetariana and a 4 Cheese. The vegetables on the Vegetariana were clearly not fresh and of low quality, and the cheeses used in the 4 Cheese pizza were underwhelming as well. The dough didn’t resemble authentic Italian pizza dough at all – it lacked the texture and flavor you’d expect.

The restaurant space is very tiny, which is understandable given its location in Montmartre and the charm of older buildings. However, the toilet was extremely small and uncomfortable to use – again, perhaps expected in the area, but still worth noting.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a genuine Italian...
