We ended up at this restaurant somewhat by accident, but ended up tremendously glad to have stopped in. Across from the Palais Garnier, many tables in the restaurant have lovely views of the opera house, including many of the outdoor tables. The interior of the restaurant was incredibly unique with multiple levels and very old-fashioned, beautiful decor, including pulley-operated fans. It had a bit of the vibe of a 1920s Parisian cafe, with lots of wood/wood paneling, interesting glass accents, and incredibly cozy (although a bit tight/cramped) seating. The highest level of the restaurant had low ceilings, contributing to the cozy atmosphere. The servers were all very nice and prompt, and the food came out relatively quickly. The table bread was hands down some of the best bread we had in Paris and was so delectable. I ordered the Croque Monsieur and potatoes Delphine and they were both mind-blowingly delicious. The Croque Monsieur had a layer of melted cheese over the top with salty ham in the middle, and the potatoes Delphine were also cheesy goodness. My husband got a ham and cheese omelette, which despite its simplicity was the perfect brunch without being too heavy. The viogner we ordered was also the perfect complement to the meal. Would definitely recommend checking out this restaurant for a perfect...
Read moreWe had a very good time here. The dishes were properly done and the atmosphere of the restaurant intimate and charming.
Take the time to look around you and appreciate the bottles of wines displayed, and the inscriptions on the wooden ceiling. :)
The service was really very good too: fast, friendly, and they take the time to advise you if you need it.
We had a Confit de Canard, a dish of Coquelet avec purée and an Escalope milanaise. The first two dishes were fine examples of typical french cuisine and we appreciated how filling they were. Only my friend who had the Escalope was still not full after but she mentioned that it tasted good.
We also recommend the Crème Brûlée : fine and tasty as it should be. The craquelure of the caramel was top notch without being too present, and the vanille bourbon excellent.
I also really enjoyed my glass of red, easily chosen thanks to both the clear indications on the menu and the explanations of the waiter.
I will come again! A great place to enjoy your lunch in front of the Opera or to let a visiting friend have a nice...

We ate here one evening last week and our server was excellent - amongst the best I’ve experienced in Paris. He was friendly and efficient. The drinks came quickly, the food soon after, then dessert. The server was attentive and charming; the food was excellent. This was reflected in the tip.
So, we decided to go back another evening. We were welcomed at the door by the first server, but taken by another, younger server who seems to think himself a bit of a comedian. We were served, we ate and then we were pretty much ignored. Sat for 20-25 minutes without drinks, so we asked for the bill. Pity, we were all going to have deserts, drinks and then coffee. No tip was left.
However, this experience does not properly reflect on the other attributes of this place. The food is really, really good. (The duck confit was delicious.) The staff are friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is brilliant and the location perfect - especially...
