La Bastide had delicious food (it wasn’t a huge menu but it was done well, we had the duck and steak). The proprietor was very welcoming and friendly, he even phoned me after I made a booking online to advise there would be music and check we were ok with that. He ensured we were well looked after all evening. The unexpected highlight was the music - there was Roman who had the most amazing rich, powerful voice with a huge range. She sang in both French and English and we were blown away by how amazing she was. Not to be outdone, all the musical support was provided by an incredible 16 year old young man who must be a musical prodigy. He ensured the whole evening looked effortless and had an amazing repertoire. Roman’s mother joined for some amazing duets, and a few solos.
