Awful customer service, even for Paris. Mediocre bar food (with a veggie option!) and decent drinks.
Came here for a comedy night that a friend invited me to. Itâs a standard overpriced Parisian dive bar in the basement with a nice ceiling, fun drinks, and comically uncomfortable seating that Iâm pretty sure were former elementary school desk chairs. Thatâs about it.
I went to the bar and inquired about whether or not they served food and a gentleman (owner?) told me that the kitchen wouldnât open for 30 minutes. I looked at the cocktail menu and selected a drink and sat down, planning to order both in 25 minutes.
An employee came by 15 minutes later and asked what I wanted, I explained the situation and she moved on. 5 minutes later she came back and told me I had to order something now, because her boss told her he didnât want me leaving after the comedy show without ordering anything. (??)
After a lengthy back and forth she begrudgingly took an order for just my food (toastie made with Kraft cheese product) but refused to let me pay for my drink at the same time because the bartenders wouldnât be able to remember to make a drink and have it come out with the food. So I had to go to the bar myself and order a drink separately and then the toastie came out 12 minutes after the kitchen opened (I was the only person in the establishment to order food)
Icing on the cake is that after taking the money for the food, the waitress told me to have a nice trip, apparently in some bizarre attempt to call me a tourist? đ
Also, Iâm pretty sure the owner is pro-policeâŚmassive display of police paraphernalia...
Read moreIts a nice little hideout in the basement. Apparently its a 12th century wine cellar which now has a bar and a place for shows in the evening. I attended a standup comedy show in English. The cocktails cost 8.5⏠and a pint of beer has the same price. Its a small place and the washroom is rather colourful. The bar is nice and its a good place for small groups to come along and chill with the ongoing evening ahows they have. Check their page for the running events. Basically they want you to buy a drink as an entry and then after the show you can pay as you like and they recommend 10 to 15⏠but you can even pay 5 or 50 depending what you want to...

This place doesnât represent south African mentality! It breaks my heart to write this review but it is the truth ⌠I hope they show more local hospitality as a South African...
