Not an authentic French restaurant, but cool if money is no object for you. We had a great time celebrating an occasion here, at the same time I have to be truthful and kind of objective here - this is not a French restaurant, it’s an American restaurant with French-ish cuisine, made for Americans or tourists. A little backstory: this restaurant, while pretending to be old, is in fact quite new and recent (just a few years old), made by an American group that has several fancy restaurants in the US. This restaurant seems to be catering towards tourists, specifically, American tourists. The service is implacable, but over the top with lots of staff everywhere around you, way overstaffed. The portions are big if not huge, and so are the prices, climbing to the level of 1-star Michelin restaurants in Paris. The food quality (quality of ingredients and preparation/presentaion) is very good, but again, the dishes are not authentic. For example, the portions are bigger than you would expect. A salad that we ordered was served in a huge casserole, which became a private joke for me and my wife. Foie gras was served as is, as a block, without any chutney or grilled bread, and they didn’t have any chutney when we asked. Foie gras was also too salty and additionally salted on top. Don’t get me wrong, all was good and even great (if you don’t care for the price), just not really authentic. Cocktails were tasty, but with the regular huge block of ice, which is a common thing in many bars now, I guess. Still feels like a scam when you realize how little of the drink you actually get. The restaurant also has a speak-easy bar downstairs, which looked great and inviting to visit another time. Recommended if you have money and would like to have great experience with an American interpretation of French cuisine and cocktails. Recommended for the overall bar experience sous-sol. Not recommended if you’re looking for authentic French food or any kind of value for money.

There are restaurants — and then there are temples. Rénomée is not simply a place to dine; it is a velvet-draped hallucination, a fever dream of flavor, texture, and desire. Dining here is like stepping into a Duras novel at midnight — dangerous, intimate, and utterly impossible to forget. From the first sip of wine — a Côte-Rôtie that wrapped itself around my tongue like silk soaked in secrets — I knew we were in for something transcendent. Each plate arrived not as food but as a proposition. The textures, the precision, the sheer audacity of the flavors — it was as if the chef had slipped into the kitchen straight from a Balzacian bordello, apron askew, whispering recipes between kisses. There was lobster that tasted like it had never touched water — only dreams. There was duck lacquered in something unspeakably erotic, as if it had been marinated in Baudelaire’s lost poems. Even the vegetables seemed to flirt, coy and glistening, comme une amante qui ne dit pas tout d’un coup. And the staff — mon Dieu — the service was a ballet of barely restrained sensuality. Our waiter moved with the grace of someone who knows they’re being watched, and wants to be. There was one moment, after the fifth course — I won’t say what it was, because you deserve the surprise — where I found myself moaning softly into my napkin. Not from hunger. From something closer to awe. Rénomée doesn’t feed you. It ravishes you. It dismantles you, course by course, and rebuilds you as someone just a little more French, a little more undone, and a lot more alive. This is not dinner. This is le vertige de la gourmandise. And I am still recovering.

I am so happy I got to actually get a reservation here. Found this place off Insta and coming from Chicago, I am very familiar with HogSalt restaurants and love them! When trying to reserve this, I made sure 30 days prior to book for my desired date. However, when I tried, all spots were completely booked. Note to self...reservations open 9AM PARIS time which is like 2AM Chicago time :/ LUCKILY, the hotel we were staying at was 2 blocks down and on Saturday me and my sister went to check if there were any cancellations. We got the 10PM slot which actually worked out perfectly for us and I AM SO HAPPY I GOT TO TRY THIS PLACE. WOOOOWW, the food was truly amazing! My favorite was the bone marrow for sure! They first served really good bread with the best butter in town. We ordered Escargot and the bone marrow as appetizers. I got the New York Steak Maturé that came with a béarnaise sauce and my sisters ordered the Filet Aux Poivres. As sides we got Pommes Frites (French fries), Haricots Verts (green beans), Ratatouille, and Pommes Grenailles de Noirmoutier (Roasted potatoes with creme fraiche). And my favorite part - dessert! We ordered CREME CARAMEL & MOUSSE AU CHOCOLAT VALRHONA. All I can say is all the food was amazing and the quality is evident! The interior has super dimmed lighting and booths with soft jazz in the background. Like super romantic vibes. Downstairs they have a bar area which is equally chic! The staff were soooo friendly! I'd 100% recommend this place if you're looking for a special dinner spot in Paris or if you are celebrating something special
