La Robe et Le Palais — Restaurant in Paris

I have eaten here many times. It is probably my favourite restaurant in Paris. It is best known for its superb wine selection, excellent food and wonderful ambience. It gets a bit packed at times, but that just adds to the charm. The menu is constantly changing, so I can't really recommend much and guarantee you will get it, but the last pork chop I had was fabulous, the confit de canard was top class, and my friend's steak was perfect. The mi cuit au chocolat was heavenly. I recommend getting the sommeliers advice with the wines as most are from small independant vignerons and you are unlikely to know them. Food was good ..oysters very good , ceviche was good w tasty sauce though somewhat oddly cut in larger pies than expected. Steak was good and perfectly medium rare..Presentation of food was nothing exceptional , but fine. Wine was fine and presentation by waiter was different offering tastings to determine our preferences from wines he paired with our food selections…admittedly we are not a discriminating wine customer .
