I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lac Hong in Paris, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience! From start to finish, the culinary journey at this Vietnamese gem was nothing short of exceptional.
To kick off our meal, we decided to indulge in a variety of spring rolls, and each one was a flavor-packed delight. The Beef Spring Rolls were tender and succulent, while the Pork Spring Rolls had a perfect balance of savory and sweet. The Imperial Spring Rolls were a true highlight, with their crispy exterior and heavenly fillings that left us wanting more.
Moving on to the mains, the Pork Dim Sum was a scrumptious treat. The delicate dumplings melted in our mouths, and the accompanying dipping sauce elevated the experience to another level. But it was the Hanoi Soup, or Pho, that truly stole the show. The aromatic broth, tender slices of beef, and the medley of fresh herbs made for a bowl of comfort that warmed both our bodies and souls.
Next up, we savored the Grilled Beef with Lemon Grass and Vermicelli. The tender beef infused with the zesty aroma of lemon grass was a fantastic combination, and the vermicelli provided a delightful contrast in texture. The Chicken with Orange was a revelation - a burst of tangy and sweet flavors that danced on our taste buds.
Lastly, we tried the Curried Chicken, and it was a perfect ending to our meal. The curry sauce was rich and full of depth, coating the tender chicken pieces beautifully. It was an explosion of flavors, leaving us in awe of the chef's skills.
Throughout our dining experience, the service was impeccable. The owner and family at Lac Hong were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the dishes they were serving. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, making us feel right at home.
In conclusion, Lac Hong truly impressed us with its delectable Vietnamese cuisine. Each dish was expertly prepared, showcasing the authentic flavors and essence of Vietnam. If you find yourself in Paris and crave an exceptional dining experience, Lac Hong is an absolute must-visit. Without a doubt, it deserves a resounding five-star rating, and we look forward to returning soon for another...
Read moreVery disappointing! I found this restaurant through google, listed as nr 1 place for Pho. I even made a detour just to eat here but regret it deeply. Why was it so disappointing? The restaurant only opens at 7pm. Even though the owner saw us waiting in the pouring rain at 6:45 pm, he didn't bother letting us in. The Pho I ordered for my son of 10 was a rather small portion compared to what i am used to in California, or even in the 13th arrondissement in Paris. Also the Pho is very strong, too much star anise in my opinion. The Bo Bun i ordered for myself tasted sour; I don't know why they needed to add pickled cabbage to it. The nems (spring rolls) were chewy and small. I didn't like it that they served the Pho first and the Bo Bun came only 5 min later. I thought it was just us, but some French people at another table 'complained' about it, when their dishes weren't served at the same time. The service is extremely slow. We waited almost 30 min (when we ordered, there was only 1 other table occupied; later more people came in) 7.The price was 2 times higher than what I usually pay in the 13th arrondissement (see picture of receipt) A simple tip for anyone who wants to eat at a good authentic asian restaurant: check if there are any asian customers. This restaurant had mostly non-asian customers. Last but not least: the owner came to us afterwards to ask where we are from and also to beg us to write a good review. Felt very awkward and sad.
I don't understand why this restaurant has so many good reviews. Almost like what you find on Amazon for some products; the exaggerating positive reviews. I am asian myself, so it's not like i can't recognize good authentic asian food. If you want really good Pho and Bo Bun, large portions and cheap prices, go to the 13th arrondissement (Place d'Italie/Choisy) and pick any restaurant there. I like Pho...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I had a wonderful lunch and lovely experience at Lac Hong! Highly recommended! Definitely coming back!
The food are fresh, delicious and use high quality produce. We had the beef rolls, Phở, coconut drink and Vietnamese traditional iced coffee. The dishes were yummy, elegant and beautiful. We were so full. The price was reasonable in my opinion, esp. for Paris.
Oh the Phở! Filled with fresh herbs, which you can smell from a distance. The soup is so pure, clear and tasty. You can tastes the spices. Just like homemade. To achieve that, lots of care, time and generosity must have been put into it. And don't even get me started with the iced coffee. Perfect and certainly authentic!
The interior design is also excellent, full of Vietnamese deco elements and fresh pretty flowers. It is a little oasis that transports you to vn in the middle of Europe.
Additionally, we came to the restaurant when it was already closed. Co Tuyet, the owner & head chef, first advised us so. But as soon as she learnt that we were so hungry, she warmly let us in, like how moms/grandmas welcomed their kids home. We could see that she had to take out already-put-away cooking utensils to prepare the meals for us. Naturally we felt quite guilty for disturbing her break but she ensured that it was all ok. Such a kind and delightful lady! Looks super young too. Try to guess her age when you see her in person. :) Talking to her, we could feel the love and passion she has for cooking. Maybe that's why the food is so nice.
By the way, I have to agree with the previous comments made by Tom Le. In fact, they made me curious and want to check the...
