We were flying in to Paris Orly airport on the Friday evening and our flight was a little delayed. I knew we would arrive at the hotel late, and expected to arrive just before midnight so I emailed the hotel with the travel voucher the agent I booked with had sent months before to confirm we would be arriving late. The manager of the hotel answered my email and confirmed this was no problem and there would be someone there to check us in. |We arrived at around 1am as there were some delays with public transport as well as the flight. When we arrived the night porter looked surprised and asked where we staying in the hotel and we confirmed we were. He said they were fully booked and could not find our booking. |It turns out from speaking to the agent in the travel agency we used (trip.com via trivago) that the hotel did not take payment as instructed on the travel docket sent after booking and proceeded to cancel our booking, not telling either the agent or us when I queried a late check in earlier in the day that they had cancelled our booking. |After a couple of hours in reception and on phone calls back and forth to the agent they found us another hotel in the city. Just as we were about to leave a man checked out in the middle of the night at after 3am. I asked the night porter had he checked out and was the room now available and he said yes but he was not a cleaner. He went up and gave the room a quick clean and changed the sheets which saved us having to go across the city to another hotel that late at night. |The next day the agent paid the hotel in full for the two nights and discussed reimbursing us as they had effectively already been paid already for the room for the night by the person who checked out early and we didn't get our room until after 3:30am and it wasn't properly cleaned. The hotel refused them (I wasn't aware of this until later in the day when they called me) but at the same time were asking me to pay the tourist tax for Paris. |In any case the rooms are very small, dated looking and overall the hotel isn't very nice. We actually found a dirty sock under the bed when checking out so it is arguable how well they cleaned the room even on the second day, and the carpet in the corners of the room and under the bed were dusty! It is in a nice location close to the Arc de Triumphe but apart from this our experience was awful. ||The main issue I have is the hotel gave our room away, accepted and got payment for our room from somebody else and then by pure chance in the middle of the night a room became available but yet they still expected full payment for us for both nights and refused any refund. All this while the only reason they didn't get paid is because the never took the money for the booking correctly as instructed. Secondary issue is they cancelled the booking without telling either us or the agent when I was in touch with them earlier in the day before arriving which would have given me time to sort out...
Read moreDisappointing Stay at Louisa Hotel||My friend and I stayed several nights at the Louisa Hotel and had a very disappointing experience. During our stay we went out at night to a cabaret show and when we got back, the front doors to Louisa Hotel were locked and there was no concierge to be seen. We were locked outside on the street and had to wait for someone to come unlock the door and let us in. The next morning, the concierge asked us to come to the lobby to chat and told us that coming back late at night was forbidden, against the “rules”, and to not do it again or else we would get in trouble with the manager. We were a bit taken aback by this and extremely confused. The Louisa Hotel claims (on their official website) that they have a “24/7 open and running reception”, but yet the front door of the hotel is locked and there is no concierge working between the hours of 1am and 7am. |Additionally, it is completely unfair to enforce “rules” on their guests if they never even inform their guest of their so-called “rules”. We scourged their website and booking confirmation emails and could not find any list of “rules” or anything stating that the hotel is closed from 1am to 7am. Out of all my travels, I have never experienced a hotel that locks its front doors at night and don’t let their guests come and go as they like. After talking to other guests at Louisa Hotel, we found that we were not the only ones unaware and shocked of these unfair “rules”. Out of all the hotels I’ve stayed at, I have never encountered a hotel with a curfew. If the Louisa Hotel is to enforce these measures, they need to be transparent with their guests and inform them of clear rules.|Additionally, the same concierge was upset with us that we had to check out early in the morning. We had a flight to London at 8 am and needed to check out at 5:30 to make it to the airport. The concierge was upset and hesitant to wake up at this hour to check us out of the hotel. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the quality of our stay, the unprofessional behavior from the concierge, and their unjust rules that were never...
Read moreIf we accept that this is a 2* Star Hotel from the beginning then my comments can be seen in context. I came here because of it's central location between the Start and the Finish of the Marathon.||||The room was on the third floor and I had to carry my two cases up and down the narrow staircase, no drama, there is a lift but it was easier to carry. The room was a twin bedded room ( I was on my own ) and it was small but more than adequate for me. My running kit was my priority and there was plenty of space to lay everything out and to hang other items of general clothing.||||I did have the breakfast twice and this was well presented and being available when I needed it perfect for me. ||||The room was very clean and the bathroom although small was very clean and shower perfect.||||I had a street side room and there was no noise although the street rubbish collection happens every day early but I was up by then anyway.||||The staff were friendly and very helpful when asked.||||I had to finish the Marathon and then shower at the hotel prior to a flight later in the afternoon. The Hotel allowed me to check out but also to have a shower in the afternoon after the Marathon. Thank you very much to them.||||Would I go back, yes I would, it is a perfect hotel if you are just going to use it as a base for tourism or to do...
