An evening to forget – unacceptable in 2025
I went to this restaurant for a welcome dinner with colleagues who were aware that I’m vegetarian. Unfortunately, the establishment proved to be completely unprepared – and worse, openly hostile – to any kind of dietary requirement.
The menu had absolutely no real vegetarian options (meat, fish, or cheese made with animal rennet in almost every dish), and every attempt to request a minimal adjustment (like removing Parmesan from a risotto or simply serving some potatoes and an egg) was flatly refused by the chef.
In the end, while everyone else ate, I was left with nothing. After quite some time, they finally brought me… a small bowl of fries. That was it. That was all I was allowed to have. And to top it off, the waiter — half-joking, half-serious — suggested I go find a vegetarian restaurant nearby.
In 2025, it is absurd that a restaurant would refuse to accommodate such a common dietary choice, showing such rigidity and narrow-mindedness. These were not extravagant demands, just a basic expectation of empathy and professionalism.
I strongly advise anyone with specific dietary needs — or simply anyone who expects decent customer service — to avoid this place. An experience that was both humiliating and...
Read moreWe had researched a small eatery away from the touristy crowds after our visit through Palais Garnier and decided on Le Petit Littré. Arriving at 12 noon always helps to beat the crowds. This small, rustic eatery has approximately 12 tables inside and ? tables on the sidewalk area outside. The manager had quite the personality! He moved a table and chairs so that we could face outside with the open doors...he knows some of the locals and they have a very warm rapport. He banters with the customers if they are in the mood! We each ordered an appetizer, and the food was delicious! My husband had a burratina salad with an assortment of gorgeous, fresh tomatoes and pesto! I enjoyed the flavorful terrine served with one nicely-sliced cornichon, alongside a few vinegary spring greens. Along with the basket of fresh baguette slices, each of these made for a perfect lunch for us! The burgers walking by us on trays for other diners looked incredible. The many paperback novels lining the shelves provided a unique and cozy feel. Thank you for showing us that fun and flavor can be served up in...
Read moreOn our second night in Paris, we found ourselves at Le Petit Littré, a little gem of a restaurant near Montparnasse. After a warm welcome at the door, the waiter kindly translated the evening menu for us. Our appetizer, the millefeuille de chèvre frais was a delicate taste sensation that didn’t last long on our plate. Crunchy, fresh and creamy at the same time, this dish awakened our appetites for the beautiful entrees to come. We shared two plates, a risotto with fresh asparagus and an escalope de poulet panne that were to die for. We savored every bite. Warm and delicious as they were, we kept commenting to each other on how the flavors and textures were finely balanced. If this is how Parisiens eat, then we are seriously contemplating moving to Paris. This fine meal was capped off with a creme brûlée that was light as a feather with a crispy top that was packed with flavor. So good was this end to the meal that we decided to keep the experience going by ordering a second dessert, a warm molten chocolate cake. We were in heaven. Delightful and decadent, this was a meal we will not...
