great restaurant for fresh big portions of seafood! we were happily welcomed and served professionally by everyone here. i loved all the starters, especially the sea snails, which were deliciously chewy. the oysters were humongous and good quality, real taste of the sea! :) i also liked how the fish were all served with different tasty condiments and sauces. for a main I had the scallops with shiitake, a very interesting combination which went fantastic with the butter. for my taste it was too much butter but that is not a complaint! the mashed potatoes were good but maybe it would have gone better with rice or something else. the tuna tataki was wonderful, really thick and soft, and with a fitting glaze of Japanese-inspired flavours. the monkfish was good and tender, a very big portion, and I thought it was tasty. the fried parts however were slightly soggy but not too bad. the best dish was the sea bass, it was genuinely incredible, so well-seasoned and ideally cooked!!!!! the creme brulee was gorgeous, good vanilla flavour and the crispy top was burnt well. the mi-cuit was also very nice with a full dark chocolate flavour. i enjoyed my dinner thoroughly and the atmosphere inside was really cozy and comforting!

We had the most wonderful meal here - the best of our five days in Paris by far. They were very welcoming and we got a nice table towards the back of the restaurant. They brought a couple of tasty bruschetta as we chose our food. There was a QR code we could use to get the menu in English which was a nice touch although it was all handwritten in French on a big blackboard which they brought to our table. Between us we had fish soup, avocado tartare and shrimp, tuna tataki (tataki de thon , sauce miel et sésame, riz basmati) and scallops with shiitake mushrooms (Saint-Jacques bretonnes rôties aux shiitake, purée de pommes de terre) which were all fantastic. The two main courses were especially delicious. We visit Paris a lot and Lobineau will definitely be top of our list for places to eat on future visits. It is in a very nice area too. Do be sure to book as we tried to eat here on our first night (a Saturday) but it was full. They were closed Sunday and Monday but fortunately we were able to go on our last night. it wasn't so busy then but I'd still recommend booking so you don't miss out.

Another case where the restaurant we wanted to dine at couldn’t seat us and we found a gem! They were able to seat us immediately. We were greeted with a small dish of the house olives which disappeared immediately. We weren’t terribly hungry, so wanted to do a couple of starters and one main. We ordered the shrimp and avocado tartare along with the calamari. Both were excellent. The shrimp and avocado was well done and with a small salad. The calamari was excellent - sautéed perfectly with some shallots. My wife commented how much she enjoyed it compared to fried calamari. The main was the mussels. Again, excellent. Meaty mussels, flavorful wine broth and plenty of crusty baguette to mop it up with. We’d go back in a heartbeat!

I had booked a table for my family, including young children, and decided to stop by in person earlier in the day to ask whether the restaurant was child-friendly and offered a kids’ menu. The owner responded that they don’t serve chips for kids when asked. He said: “ On ne sert surtout pas de frites aux enfants”- certainly not for kids, it’s not good”. It gives you already a flavour of his hospitality. And they did not have kids menu.

So, I cancelled my reservation well within the cancellation policy, over an hour before the booking (we didn’t tell him we had a reservation). Moments later, the owner came out and found me and my family on the street upset that I had cancelled claiming that we blocked the table. The restaurant wasn’t even open when we cancelled online. This behaviour was completely unprofessional, unacceptable and rude. Typically French, looking for trouble and confrontation. For what? He also proudly said that he had replied to my questions even though he wasn’t open. So why the doors were wildly open !!! If you want to have a friendly experience avoid this restaurant. As French I am not surprised and I had to show him “politely” to back off. He is such an...

A wonderful place for seafood lovers and for anyone who appreciates great food and friendly service. Roasted skate in a raspberry vinaigrette was delicious, as was the pumpkin in a crab sauce. Both were original and perfectly prepared. Oysters had a clean and briny flavor, better than anything we've had on the coast of Maine. We drank the reasonably priced wine of the month, an ideal accompaniment to the seafood.

Our waiter also deserves praise. Service was efficient and timely, but it was his dry sense of humor that made the evening special. The chef, who gave us a warm greeting as he passed our table, reinforced the impression that he cares about his customers and the quality of everything he cooks.

Compared to the two Michelin-starred restaurants we tried during our stay in Paris, Lobineau has by far the best "quality to price" ratio because the quality is top-notch and the prices are fair. It's also by far the best of the seafood restaurants we've tried in the St. Germain neighborhood over the years, which cater to tourists and cut corners on quality and service. We enjoyed every aspect of Lobineau and look forward...
