I am thrilled I found this spot through research on Youtube. This restaurant was everything I NEEDED while in Paris. I love fish and seafood and I won't lie, I was kind of over all of the carbs in my meal. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. It is super clean and sleek. The waiter was very knowledgeable and not only helped us order but chose wine to pair with our dishes. We were first served crisp crackers with an olive and sardine? tapenade. So tasty - I could have drank the tapenade alone! We then got into our dishes which we split throughout the rest of the meal. We ordered the salmon rilette, the mussels in white wine with French fries, the crab meat with apple and avocado and the chocolate mousse. The salmon rilette was a mix of smoked and non-smoked salmon. It was so fresh and surprisingly had a lot of depth and flavour. It woke up our tastebuds! The crab meat with apple and avocado was a favourite of our waiter who suggested it and I totally understand why. It was light, and refreshing. Apple truly pairs so well with fish! The mussels in white wine is always a favourite of mine and these did NOT disappoint. I always scoop out the mussels and let them stew in that delicious base. Absolutely stunning! Lastly, the chocolate mousse was a great surprise. My husband and I don't really enjoy chocolate (weird, I know) HOWEVER; this was rich but not too heavy and oh so creamy. It was an absolute delight. We left with full stomachs and very happy hearts. Seulement Sea is a spot everyone should check out - even non seafood lovers. Everything was so fresh and flavourful I bet it could make anyone learn to love the sea. Be sure to book a reservation as it is a smaller restaurant. You will NOT be...
Read moreWe decided to try this small quaint restaurant simply because it was close to the Epic Supermarket where we need a few items. We started with the Tuna Tataki. We often do this as my wife is Japanese. We have found it acceptable in less than a handful of places outside Japan. It was cooked perfectly. Certainly the best we have tried outside Japan. Our plats were scallops St Jacques for ma femme and sea bream pour moi. Firstly the scallops were cooked to perfection. Just no other way to properly describe them. I’m gluten sensitive and was recommended the sea bream by my server. They even presented the whole fish to me before it was cooked for my approval. If you are wondering what “sea bream” is, Anglophones may better recognize it as porgy. Yes porgy! After i looked the fish over, i googled it and smiled inside. I had only eaten it once before in Boston many years ago. It’s meaty more like lion fish and just a hint of fishy flavor. Nothing like mackerel or roe (which I love). The porgy came with pan fried potatoes and mushrooms. Which, I’m from the southern United States, and it was like a home cooked meal! Ma femme et moi agreed my plat took the evening. For dessert we had Americano coffee, with tiramisu and yours truly stuck gold with Ile Flottante - Floating Island as we say in Anglais. Both were just outstanding! We shared a 50 cl carafe of the vegan Chardonnay which was superb. The staff was appropriately attentive without being overbearing. They quickly spoke English to me rather than suffering through my bad French, for which I was thankful. The overall dining experience was as the French say “ Le Meilleur”...
Read moreWe tried coming here on a Saturday evening but they were unfortunately fully booked, however managed to come again on a Tuesday evening and got a table. Probably best to book in advance!
It’s a small ish restaurant focusing on seafood - we had a craving for moules frites so this was a perfect choice.
The female server was friendly and attentive which was appreciated - she started us off with some olive tapenade which was on the house, salty and tasty. We then had the sharing platter, the whelks were really fresh and tasty, prawns were sweet and the dips and breads went well together. Salmon was ok for me.
We ordered 3 different moules frites, the standard one without cream, one with cream and one with cheese. Out of all 3, we liked the cream one the most as it was the most balanced. The cheese one was nice for the first few bites but quickly got a bit rich, and the standard wine one was a bit normal to eat.
The mussels were small but very sweet and the cream sauce was delicious. I was dipping fries and bread in it non stop and pretty much finished all the sauce by the end. The fries were really great, crispy and potatoey and they stayed crispy even till the end.
It was a bit pricy but for the area and quality, it’s worth it for a nice meal. Expect around €35-40 each person.
Would visit next time we’re...
