Quite good coffee here I have to say. But I’ve been here twice and both times the service was very weird. The first time two girls were a bit reluctant to receive me (in general customers I think), and the second time I came in with 2 friends speaking English, one friend started to order and the sir who was taking order starting to giggle and laugh, and he didn’t stop during the whole order of my friend… he was not looking into our eyes either. Until all three of us almost finished ordering he said to us that the staff is very close and they talk to each other while working and sometimes it’s funny. The moment I finished ordering he started laughing without looking at me again, at least I didn’t hear the joke in the room. I asked one of my friend who just came the weekend before that she had the same thing. We were waiting outside for our drinks, the attitude of the person who brought our drinks was also a bit off - like he walks super slowly looking into our eyes and giving the drinks even in a bit “sassy” way. 😅 I’m happy that they are in a good environment and have a happy staff to support each other. But laughing while taking our order would easily lead us to a scenario that you are making fun of us (call me victim mindset if you want), also lack of interaction with customers while taking order and giving “off” attitudes would make us think that you don’t bother to treat us seriously. I think this can be improved a bit. Otherwise nice place if you are here...
Read moreA great place to take some lessons in how to make some delicious French baked goods. There’s apparently also a cafe, but I didn’t make it in.
On my last trip to Paris I was searching for some out of the ordinary experiences and I found the baking lessons at Maiso Fleuret.
I went for the Macaron making class but they also had croissant classes and more.
The pastry chefs were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful and walked us through not only the steps but also some of the science and background of it. We even got a copy of the recipes sent to us after, although it did seem a little bit different from what we used.
We got to pick our colors, flavors, and even experiment with some of the leftovers. I picked blue with a raspberry ganache and they came out absolutely delicious.
It was a drip hard to find as we entered through the side door through a locked courtyard, but it worked out. There were two decently sized rooms for the classes, and everything was super quaint and clean and fun.
If you’re looking for something outside of the usual, definitely swing by for a...
Read moreThis is a small nook of a cafe that is just off the beaten path of the most popular Paris cafes.
The atmosphere here is very lovely and quiet, we're you feel relaxed by the tall walls of books and the comfortable chairs.
The coffee spot is defined by convenience and high prices. They have an automatic Eagle One espresso machine, so shots pulled are nice, but maybe not worth the cost of 3.5€ and a cappuccino for 6€. As for the tea, embarrassingly expensive for packaged tea bags and hot water will cost you 6€.
I also got the Safran and Lemon cake which was quite good and had a nice balance of flavour, but also cost 7€.
I'd recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere and you happen to not want to wait in the more famous cafes down the road, but if you are looking for a competent coffee house, or tea, this isn't the place for you. Possibly, if they allow studying or home office, another good...
