Ojii could be an amazing restaurant. The design is nice and the food is outstanding for sure particularly the caviar tuna nigiri and the truffle Kobe beef. But food can’t make up for many flaws. The first one is the main room area where you arrive in the middle of people dining and wait to be taken care of. It’s messy especially if your table is not ready. Wouldn’t care about this is in a more basic restaurant but this is a very fancy and expensive place and that’s just not a good start. The staff struggles between coats, table sitting and drink orders, and it was 7:30, the first seating. The second big issue is how my waiter suggested me to order the fish when I asked what dish I should try after a rather big order (about 8 dishes). Trusting him I ordered it and realized when getting the bill that the fish was 150€. For an extra taste at the end of our meal it sure was a taste I’ll remember. You just don’t do that at ANY restaurant. It was misleading and dishonest and the main reason why I’ll never go back to that place. The wait between some of the dishes was also insane as I waited about half an hour for this fish. It’s a shame as the food is excellent and in general reasonably priced for the quality. But I felt duped and it...
Read moreOjii is one of those places in Paris that nails the vibe. The space is cool, sexy, and thoughtfully designed—with bold red interiors and branding that’s carried through everything from the plates to the backs of the chairs. You can tell a lot of care went into the details.
The staff wasn’t overly friendly, but that’s honestly pretty typical in France—especially if you’re coming from the U.S.—and it didn’t detract from the experience. The menu is straightforward but well-curated, and our server walked us through it with no issue. The food itself was genuinely delicious.
The crowd is just as stylish as the space, so it definitely has that buzzy, in-the-know kind of energy. You’ll need a reservation and a deposit to secure your spot, but it’s worth planning ahead.
If you’re in Paris and looking for a chic, intimate spot for a date night or a cool night out, I’d highly...
Read moreOverall we had a great experience at Ojii. The ambience is cozy and comfy seating in booths. The menu offers delicious modern japanese food, highlight to the hot dishes like grilled Seabass with tomato ponzu sauce and the amazing Eel with egg yolk sauce. Despite the fact the hot dishes were supperb, there is correction to the shari. Both unagui and Toro Ikura sushi have room for improvement. The rice was too sticky and warm. It was delicious for the hot dishes but not for cold. Sashimi could be a bit thicker to feel more taste. I would give it a 4,5 stars if posible. The servers were super friendly and attentive. The food is mainly for sharing, making it a perfect place to explore...
