This morning (June 15), I was served here by a gentleman who didn’t crack a single smile at me.
And I loved it.
Even though he wasn’t overtly friendly, he showed the utmost respect. I knew he spoke English as he used it to assist a previous customer; when I spoke French to him, he responded back in kind, even though it would have been very apparent it was not my first language. He gathered for us what we asked for in a very efficient manner, and was so kind to provide us with some sample chocolates.
The macaroons and the chocolates were excellent - some of the best I’ve ever had to be honest (and I’ve spent the past five years in Europe). I will need to return for more.
Anyways, I’ve never been served by anyone before that was so…expressionless to the point of almost cold, and yet, I felt that he treated me very kindly. I don’t know that I will be in that area before I leave to buy more from him, but because of him, I will absolutely be stopping at the next Pierre Hermé I see to get...

After the staff finished with the guests that were before us, they literally walked past us and helped these other people. It’s an extremely small, tight shop, so they saw us. We were literally in front of them. They made no eye contact and no greetings. The 2 rude workers were a short tiny blonde guy who’s suffering from a Napoleon complex. And also a hook nosed woman who was taller and had black hair. Watch out for them. We went to Ladurée a couple blocks away instead. And will never return to this...
Read moreI recently visited Pierre Hermé Paris and was truly impressed. The boutique itself is elegant, and the display of macarons is almost too beautiful to eat.
The experience was made even better by the wonderful service. A staff member named Vladimir assisted me, and he was fantastic — welcoming, patient, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the different flavours, helped me put together a varied selection.
Yes, the macarons are on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and service make it worth it. If you’re looking for a luxurious treat or a memorable gift, I highly recommend Pierre Hermé Paris — and if you’re lucky, you’ll be helped...
