Seb'on — Restaurant in Paris

On yelp/google/tripadvisor this restaurant is highly rated but unfortunately it did not meet the high expectations we had. Food was a 4/5 but the service was the deciding factor why our experience is rated only as a 3/5.

Food: The appetizer and main course were quite good! I ordered lamb, which was chewy and a little bit "gamey" at some point. But overall good taste. The dessert was excellent (as most desserts in France). Overall I'd rate it a 4/5

Service: On google as well as Yelp this restaurant is highly rated! However, the service didn't meet our expectations. It sometimes felt condescending (probably without intent), drinks were forgotten, entrées/plats weren't served as ordered and the check was given even though we didn't ask for it (this is not the US). Also they didn't even ask if we wanted any coffee or anything else before giving us the check. 3/5

Atmosphere: Cute small restaurant. Nice "booth" inside the restaurant and also some places outside...

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and it exceeded the very high expectations we had. The food was a truly delicious experience and the combination of flavours in the different dishes was amazing, as well as the wine that the team recommended.

The started with beef tarter, egg and mousse of Parmesan was exceptional. The best dish of the night by far was the strawberry risotto with basil cream and tuna tarter. The combination of the tree was incredible and the risotto was cooked to perfection. Portions were incredibly generous and we managed to make a little space try to one of the deserts only because the food was so good. We chose the cheesecake with the elderflower mouse and verveine ice cream and caramelised apricots which was incredible!

Highly recommend this restaurant for food lovers or for a special...

My wife and I had dinner here last night, it was one of the best meals I have ever had. I have been very lucky to travel and eat at great restaurants, halfway through my meal all I could think about was how could I manage to come back here again before we leave.

The entree was pickled Salmon, very different to what I have had before but very nice. For mains, my wife had the fish and I had the pork. The fish absolutely melted, and the pork was cooked to perfection and I enjoyed every mouthful.

Unfortunately having traveled from the Southern Hemisphere and arrived that afternoon (5am body clock when we left the restaurant), when it came time to order dessert we had to make a decision to leave and go to bed. Today I am still thinking about this restaurant and how much I'd like to go back...
