I can honestly say this was one of the most enjoyable food experiences in my life. This is not the kind of restaurant you find by accident (or maybe that's exactly it). Nestled in the absolute center of Paris, you enter a small side street, then pass a courtyard, to finally enter a small hall that houses a few very small restaurants. Among it Sushi Ku. The two owners founded it in 1998 and have been running it since. It's not a fusion between Malaysian and Japanese food – you can enjoy authentic dishes from both cultures. I strongly urge you to ask the owner for recommendation. She speaks English and French and we ended up chatting until even after the restaurant had already closed. I cannot remember all the names of the different dishes I tried that day, but it was all equally delicious, healthy and 100% freshly made. I ended up paying 25€ for an entry, main dish, tea and dessert. I would argue that at this quality and at this price point and with such a central location, you will not easily find anything similar in Paris. Because I was interested, the owner told me all about the ingredients of the food and its different (health) benefits. The food was lower in salt than most people are probably used to, but so, so rich in taste. Surprisingly, because for me fat and salt were always the main carriers of taste. And last but not least: the restaurant closes at 3PM. But if you call before 2PM and ask for a reservation for the same evening, they might open the place. It depends on the size of your group or if enough other people also called for reservation. I will be back next time I'm in Paris. And I will...

the sashimi we received was frozen and was still crunchy and (very) cold in the center. This was a huge disappointment for us because our server took her time to explain how the fish they use is high-quality and what-not. You can imagine how excited we both were and saying very positive things. Not to mention we waited around 40-45 minutes for this to come out. I’m sorry, but fresh fish that is frozen is still frozen :( the soup was also more like random herbs soaked in hot water.

But obviously we still had our mains to wait for, but after our appetizers, we did not feel the excitement that the lady was trying to sell us.

Parts of my partner’s Rendang were cold and other parts were hot. Very off-putting also when we heard the microwave going off just some minutes before our mains were served. The taste was less than average, but we weren’t so shocked by this anymore.

We felt very awkward when the lady asked us how we felt after we had the sashimi (and again the talk about how they use high-quality fish). We tried to leave asap, but she was faster with the dessert menu and told us how the ice cream was homemade and that the azuki was good for vitality (?). Maybe it is, but after the frozen fish it was hard to believe the things she was saying after.

The husband also asked me if the food was good with the biggest smile on his face.

The couple was lovely, yes, I guess, but I don’t understand how oblivious they were to the food they...

Have been away from Singapore for months on end now and was craving for some laksa. Searched Google maps and BOOM found this gem of an eatery hidden snugly in an office building.

Their laksa soup has a fragrant coconutty flavour infused with nice tangy assam spices. I got the chicken version from a selection of vegetarian, seafood and prawn wantons. The handmade flat rice noodle was slurpilly good with the broth whilst the wheat noodles had a nice al dente texture on top of it's slurpiness. In contrast with the usual unhealthy laksa back home, no need to feel guilty when there is a huge serving of greens therein!

Also ordered a wanton soup. The broth was rich and thick. The bite into the springy wanton gives you the satisfaction only freshly caught prawns can.

Was very kindly given a tasting portion of their homemade grilled soya beancurd wrapped around chicken pieces. The crunch was as shiok as it comes, what more with it's umami seasoning topped with a delightful fruit-ish salad.

Will be coming back for some more claypot rice and mayhaps Mee goreng if my calories budget allows...

Went there for lunch with a friend. I was not disappointed. One of the better Malaysian restaurants and the restaurant is halal. We ordered teh tarik (milk tea) together with gyoza and soup ravioli? as entrée. Gyoza was delicious if you want some sour sweet taste, otherwise the ravioli would be a great choice. Next both of us went for the claypot rice, one with beef and the other with chicken. It was delicious. I didn't try the Japanese dishes. The restaurant is quite hidden and narrow, unfortunately, but would be a great lunch spot if you're visiting sacré-cœur in the morning. The staff are friendly, and got a free side dish together with a lime tea. Definitely would repeat.
