2 times there, I was not served. The first time I arrived 18:50, when I crossed the door, the guy simply said they were closed. I knew that the café closes at 19h, so I just wanted to buy coffee powder. Refused. OK I understood that everything should be cleaned and back home. Coincidently my wife went there the day after, in a "normal time" to buy my coffee powder (I knew that they have diferrent coffee beans so I'd like to them grind some beans for me) but despite they had different coffee beans to grind, another time they said that they didn't have coffee. One thing that I didn't understand is: if you have coffee beans and a coffee grinder, and you store says "café moulu a l'heure", why you refuse to sell coffee? I simply gave up and bought coffee in: "Grand epicerie de Paris" there you can choose your coffee bean, and they grind fresh for you. Hope in the future you café...
Read moreThis is a great local coffee/espresso shop in Paris that clearly serves a lot of locals, but also did a great job catering to us non locals. It is a block or two from the Eiffel Tower.
The gentlemen behind the espresso machine (a La Marzocco by the way) was very friendly and worked with my lack of French to help me order what I wanted. I was watching him poor the milk and making some great coffee art. When he sat the cup down on the saucer it spilled a little on the cup. That clearly was not OK with him so he remade it which was totally unexpected, but much appreciated. He also gave me a little cookie, probably a biscotti for maybe it taking longer (not really sure why)... either way it was really good.
The mocha was really well done and the service was above and beyond. Will definitely be coming back next time...
Read moreWe waited our coffee for 40 minutes. The waitress came out and looked for us with her eyes looking straight ahead, and we were just sitting left to her. Then she thought we were gone and never came back. We asked after 25 minutes after she came out again (we didn’t ask earlier because it is a really small cafe and inside was packed) and she said she looked for us everywhere which wasn’t true. Then we had to wait for another 20 minutes because we were at the back of the queue again. No apologies, kept covering up her screw up. Other staff members were also very cold and not very competent and customer service friendly. The speciality cafe standard and service for this cafe based on what they charge - EUR6 for a flat white is the worst I’ve experienced in Europe. Do...
