I was staying in the hotel and decided to try this restaurant for a late dinner. The staff were friendly and seated me right away. I chose the sunnyside burger, and it was good but not amazing. I thought it was priced pretty low considering it is a hotel restaurant in the middle of Paris. The fries were delicious, as was the truffle ketchup. The only downside of the night is the draft beer must come from another bar in the hotel because it took as long to arrive as it did to prepare my meal. I didn't mind it initially, but I ordered a second beer that never arrived. After about 15 minutes, a different server asked if I was finished and presented me with a bill including the second beer. I don't know why my original server, who was standing nearby, never came back, but this new person thought I had already consumed the second drink. After she understood the issue, she offered to take it off the bill. I paid, and as I walked out, I passed someone carrying a beer on a tray--no doubt mine from now 20 minutes before. My advice is to stick to the drinks you can see in the area. The restaurant was not at all busy at 9:30pm on a Friday night, but apparently the bar was. Overall not a bad option if you don't want to leave the hotel, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. This is a 3.5 that I'm wavering whether to make a 3 or 4 since we can't do 1/2 stars. I'll let the friendly service...
Read moreFriday night, my wife and I were looking for a burger, as we were craving for one ! We found this place, which is actually a restaurant of the Pullman hotel near Gare Montparnasse.
I must say, the place is gorgeous ! The decoration is absolutely beautiful, and super quiet. The waiters are super nice, and quick. I loved that our order was taken rapidly and always with the proper words, love that ! Huge thanks to the guys who served us yesterday !
When it comes to the burgers themselves, well…. Those are not the best burgers in town, they are decent. Who had the classic burger and the crispy chicken. Nothing fancy here, no special sauce, the buns are ok, and the crispy chicken was probably over fried as it came out almost black. The fries are good, don’t get me wrong they are probably home made, but again not something I would come again for.
All in all, we had a nice evening but we won’t probably come back, as the food was just ok, and the prices are pretty high for that. 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2...
Read moreA dad-son trip to Paris, and son wanted to eat burgers. So I found this place. The ride up the escalator is fun, and the entry of the restaurant looks nice. Even though the hotel lobby looks much like an airport terminal with travelers hanging around waiting for their delayed charter flight, the entry to the Umami Burger restaurant is bright and cheerful. We were there at a slow moment, which was good for service times, but maybe did not do the atmosphere any good. We really liked the burgers. Surprising combinations, tasty, rich and huge portions. I had the K-Town Tuna which was good, but the Tuna was overcooked. Service is amazing. Our waiter was friendly, kind, helpful and interested. My son wanted to give this place 5 stars, but the tuna and the empty hotelbar feel took a bit...
