The maître d’ was great: she was very friendly, on the ball, and overall a delight, but unfortunately that’s a about the only real positive from our experience.
The food was sub par.
We were there for a Christmas Eve fixed menu supper, with the option of meat or seafood platter.
Meat: the foie gras starter was ok, but it’s garnish was lacklustre. And the duck main was not good. The duck was too raw and the sides were bland.
Seafood platter: quality was unfortunately low and most of it tasted like it had just thawed / still a bit frozen. And some sand in some of it.
We were given an amuse-bouche without any explanation of what is was, and when we asked the waiter didn’t know. (Also it wasn’t very good) We did see the maître d’ explain it at another table afterwards.
I understand that a xmas eve supper will be pricier than a normal night, but this was pretty disappointing. Maybe they aimed too high and should stick to...
Read moreThe place is actually decent. They have dedicated menus in different languages and they have multilingual staff that can speak politely and can communicate well in your preferred language. Even as a non-native English speaker that doesn't know any French or German, I definitely felt very welcome in the restaurant.
I couldn't compare their food with other restaurants in the vicinity since I was only there for a day, but the food I ordered was great nonetheless. From what I can observe, their food wasn't really as expensive as other people put it; but this is relative to other similar restaurants if course. It's cheaper if you eat on fast food stalls and the sort, but you don't really get the ambiance and service they provide.
Overall, I'd say it was a great experience eating here, and it's definitely a good alternative especially if all the more high end restaurants nearby are fully booked for...
Read moreService was relatively attentive and the location convenient, but that’s about all the good I can say about this place. The food was honestly disgusting. I ordered the „burger vegetarién“ which consists of several layers of a shredded greens patty. The texture was already quite off-putting, mushy and watery, but the worst part is that I found that the lowermost layer was still cold — which indicates that the whole thing was from the freezer and not thoroughly cooked. This obviously raises questions that go beyond mere taste (food safety). Waiters seemed to be aware that the quality wouldn’t be stellar since I was never asked if everything was alright or if the food was to my expectations. Of course, I was served a hefty bill that bears no relation to the quality of the food...
