I stayed 2 nights at Le Bristol and found it to be a good basic hotel with recently renovated rooms. It looks a bit naff from the outside as there is an empty shop on the frontage and the entrance is quite small with no ramp for suitcases or wheelchairs. It's an old building so the lift (slow) and the stairs are a bit narrow by current standards, and the rooms a bit small but the renovations give you all you need in a hotel room, and nothing you don't. WiFi is good and reliable. ||It has air conditioning in the rooms which was wonderful as their was a heatwave occurring when I was there. Modern windows keep the noise from the streets down and the curtains are thick enough to keep the lights out, so I slept well here. The bathroom was nice and had modern Villeroy & Boch fixtures.||Breakfast was the typical limited French fare served in a windowless basement for an extra 10 Euros, with only yogurt and fruit as the GF options, but I packed my own GF food so didn't starve. Front desk were staff were friendly with limited English, and if you want bottled water it costs e2.50 extra - normally free in most European hotels. No fridge in the room, which most other hotels at this price have.||The location is great - well placed for a short walk into Strasbourg and close to dozens of places to eat and drink, as well as 2 minutes to the main station. It worked fine for what I wanted in a hotel and was ideal for arriving and...
||||||Very bad hotel experience. We booked for 4 nights and expected to go to Strasbourg for New Year's Eve. The location of the hotel is convenient just in front of the train station, but the rooms are terrible, not the same as the photos, very ugly, dim, and the decor is old, carpet is not clean. There is a big temperature problem, it was 10 degrees outside, and the room was about 30 degrees. At night, we complained to the counter and they told me that they couldn’t adjust and told us to open the window. Now it’s winter but tell us to open the window to sleep? Are you insane?!!||||We have two young childrens, They took off all their clothes for sleeping, and my husband had a headache because the heat. ||||The next morning, we reported to the hotel supervisor again. Her attitude was arrogant. She told us that she would send someone to turn down the heating in the afternoon for the room but she was not sure that the problem would be solved, or suggested that we change to a smaller room, but will not provide any discount because of the change and the heat problem. She told me that if we were not happy, we could just LEAVE, but she WILL NOT REFUND the fee, our booked room rate was 764€, and she insisted not to refund me for the other three nights that we did not stay.||||I was very upset with her service attitude, which is not the attitude that a hotel manager should have. I went back to the room to pack, made checked out immediately, and then left this terrible hotel. I prefered to spend some money in another better hotel than stay here and watch her insult me.||||||This is a hotel with lower price but terrible!!! I will never book this...
Read moreThis is my first time writing a bad review. We didn’t had any trouble anywhere in Alsace region or France, but in this hotel, the receptionist are terrible its like you’re doing them a favor when you do a check in, they tried to charge us double after we already payed. I understand if it’s only one person in bad mood but all 3 receptionists are bad, very very unprofessional and unpleasant people (specially the blond woman who honestly did nothing to help us). They left the room dirty with towels and bed sheets on the floor. Honestly the room was cleaner when we left than when we arrived. They refused to see the room and said they will only can have us clean towels. After they told me to write the hotel director to ask for a free breakfast (I’m sorry free breakfast is not a solution, we already had breakfast included btw) then they said “sorry we can’t give you free breakfast… “ honestly it’s like a joke, anywhere there are worst places to stay but you can find better offers...
