Stepping into La Fignette as a solo traveler felt like embracing an adventure, one where the unknown promised an unfolding story of flavors and warmth. Nestled in the heart of a quaint street, its ambiance whispered stories of culinary craftsmanship and tradition. I was graciously accommodated last minute, a gesture that set the tone for an evening of unexpected delight. The star of the night was undoubtedly the cordon bleu. A dish so commonly found yet rarely perfected, it was a revelation here. The smoked ham, rich and aromatic, paired with the sharpness of Munster cheese, created a symphony of flavors. But it was the chicken that stole the show – juicy, tender, cooked to such perfection that every bite felt like a discovery of what chicken could and should always aspire to be. Accompanying this was a medley of roasted potatoes, a dance of textures from supremely crunchy to soothingly soft, each bite a contrast that only heightened the next. This harmony of textures was not just a side dish; it was an essential character in this culinary narrative, adding depth and delight in equal measure. A good meal speaks to the soul, but a perfect pairing whispers to the heart. The Pinot Blanc from Alsace was that whisper – crisp, with a gentle acidity that cut through the richness of the dish, it was like finding the missing piece of a puzzle. This wine, with its subtle notes and elegant balance, was not just a companion to the meal but an integral part of the experience, elevating each flavor it encountered. Dessert, as with any meal in France, transcends the need for words. It’s an experience, a finale that wraps up the symphony of flavors in a crescendo of sweetness and satisfaction. To say it was delightful would be an understatement; it was a fitting end to a culinary journey that felt both intimate and grand. La Fignette, with its impeccable service, exquisite cuisine, and the warmth that greeted a solo traveler, was more than a meal. It was a reminder of the joy of discovery, the beauty of culinary art, and the unexpected connections that food can forge. For one evening, I wasn't just a traveler passing through; I was part of a story, a memory woven into the fabric of this charming establishment. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

Genuine Alsacian cuisine at its finest! We stayed at Strasbourg for two days and ate here twice! There is a wide range of choices in the menu, portions are HUGE and the food is exceptional. The prices are considerably lower than most local restaurants, which makes La Fignette a great value-for-money choice. Since it was impossible to eat the whole portion at once, we took a doggy-bag and ate it the next day. It was just as delicious as the previous night, which also proves the high quality of the ingredients. Our waiters were Camille and Yusuf and they were both extremely helpful, friendly & professional. We are really happy to have met them and we send them our warmest regards. Your Greek friends and loyal customers, Thomas & Aggeliki!

Arrived for lunch at 12pm a week past Saturday. Unfortunately the weather was a little windy and as we had a toddler requested to eat inside. Told there were no tables as we hadn't booked, and they offered us a table on the terrace. After sitting down and viewing the menus, we found it difficult to get anyone's attention to order. Eventually, we managed to order a half potion breaded chicken salad, original tarte flambée and a child's portion of fish and chips. The tarte flambée was not as nice as we had elsewhere the previous evening, less toppings and a little burnt around the edges. The salad had plenty of breaded chicken but little salad, and the fish came with half roast potatoes and not fries as we requested. The weather became windy, and as the table we had was exposed to the elements, it wasn't a pleasant experience dining al fresco. On entering the main building to use the toilet, the restaurant was half empty, particularly frustrating after requesting to eat indoors. The service is disorganised, and although the food was enjoyable, I don't think we would return as the service was not particularly friendly.

Wow. What an experience was to come to this place. The food was simply delicious. It's an authentic Alsacian restaurant, the Tarte Flambee and the Spaetzles while classical, they had amazing side dishes and nice serving. But the best part was the warm and fun service from the restaurant staff. Amazing energy and attitude. We fell in love, this really shows that you don't need to be costly to provide an authentic experience for customers. The success of this place is such that reservations cannot be made and the line takes about 1.5 hours. In December it can be hard to wait so long in the cold. But it's completely worth it. They gave us wine and tarte flambee while waiting. Keep the good service! :)

We came without a reservation to the nearly full restaurant but the friendly staff managed to find us a free table but we can stay 1.5 hours before someone arrives who reserved it. 1.5 hours was just around enough for us. However, I recommend you make a reservation just in case. The service was quick, the choices in the menu are various. Me and a friend started with sharing a flammkuchen which was big enough and if someone isn't that much hungry it would probably be enough. I had the cordon bleu for the main dish and it was one of the better ones I had, definitely recommended to try! The atmosphere on the outside terrace is very lively.

On our first Try, we we're sent away because they we're understaffed, which was understandable but still a bummer and kind of annoying because it was just the two of us. A day and a little pursuasion by my Girlfriend later, we gave it another shot, and we we're not dissappointed . Biere du Moment was the best we've had here (made us come back just for another glass later that Night), and so was the Flammkuchen (you can order halfs as well, which gives you a good chance to try different ones, in our case we just weren't very hungry). Maybe we'll be Back for a third (or fourth) time today.
