We booked the Boma hotel for a short stay in Strasbourg due to its location, as it is right next to Petit France, within walking distance to everywhere in the oldtown, but also only a 8min walk to the train station. We never had to use any transports in the two days we stayed, the Cathedral and other landmarks were only a 10min walk.||However, we were also pleased with what we found as the hotel was new, modern but with character. |There was music in the halls and lift to set the atmosphere and the decor overall was urban modern but worked very well.||The room was not very big but had everything we needed for a short stay: a very comfy bed with memory foam pillows, which granted us a fantastic sleep at night; small desk with a kettle and a variety of coffee/tea; the minibar had water and soft drinks (and were free); there was a large tv on the wall with some media contents (films and music) which were also free for us to use; a safe where we could store our passports, etc during our stay; the bathroom had a good size with a large shower and the amenities were surprisingly good (which sometimes is compromised in smaller hotels).|Our room was facing a main street but the windows were double-glazed, so we barely could hear anything from the outside.||In the lower ground floor there's a (large) luggage room with large lockers for the guests to use, self-service and free. Since we arrived at Strasbourg in the morning we used it, as check-in is only at 3pm; then used it again after checking out, for a few hours, to explore a bit more of the old town before we took the train to Paris.||Breakfast was was fairly good. Mainly continental but there were also scrambled eggs and bacon.||There is a supermarket 20 metres away from the hotel, which was quite convenient in case we needed to buy anything during our stay. There is also a french bakery / patisserie just across the road. A lot of other coffee shops, restaurants, shops, etc just nearby.||The staff was friendly, provided all the information we needed for a great stay.|Would definitely recommend this hotel to visit Strasbourg, as it's perfectly located and has everything that you'll need to explore...
Read moreI have never given a 1 star review before. This hotel truly deserves it. I sent a few emails and the first and only reply was over 2 days later and it basically informed me that I could make the changes myself when clearly I couldn't. Thus I sent them a couple more emails and almost a week later now I still have not received any reply yet. At this point, I know I will not. I needed to change the date on my reservation. I booked directly with them. I know it's their peak season, right before Christmas. I booked for 5 nights and needed to change it to 4 nights, arriving a day later. Their website indicates that their hotel is fully booked except for their smallest room which I did not book. For availability, it only makes sense that there should be a room for me since I plan on coming a day later, booking from 5 nights down to 4 nights. ||Clearly that I have to cancel my booking. Truly disappointed with management of this hotel. ||I have traveled quite a bit and have written many travel reviews before. I can definitely say that you can make a conclusion about a hotel by the amount of time it takes for them to respond to you. Try to avoid staying at hotels that take their time to respond and cancel your stay at hotels that do not respond at all. I suppose they don't need any more guests since their hotel will be full regardless during Christmas season. I ended up booking at hotel Maison Rouge which is next to Galleries Lafayette store....looks like a better hotel from the map. Maison Rouge hotel is part of Marriott Bonvoy and I am a gold member so hopefully it will not...

So the AC will be turned back on only in summer. The environmental cause is admirable of course but not at the expense of the hotel guests. The choice of whether to use the AC should be at the hands of the guests, not the hotel, especially during this time of year when the whether rapidly changes and it be quite hot at times. When we arrived for example, the temperature was 25 degrees and the room was scorching hot, especially if your room faces the street. |We checked the hotel's website and nowhere does it say that the hotel turns off the AC this time of year. Had we known that this was the case, we never would have booked this hotel. |The guy at the reception didn't seem too upset after hearing our complaints and just told us that if it's hot in our room, we can open the window and offered cold bottles of water and a fan. |In cooler days the fan can be somewhat helpful but in hotter days, it was quite useless as the room was very hot.|The solutions offered by the hotel were far from satisfactory and we definitely didn't receive our money's worth.|Very...
