We stayed at this accommodation having booked through Airbnb. I have to say I was quite taken aback by both its location and what it offered. It had three double bedrooms (one set out as a twin) a bathroom, small lounge area and a well equipped kitchen. It also had an additional separate toilet. Leading from the lounge area was a gallery corridor which led to the bathroom and bedrooms. Despite being in the attic area with angled beams etc it was plenty high enough to avoid head collisions with these. I'd of given the venue 5 stars if some of the areas had been resolved. For example quite a few spotlights in the kitchen were out and hadn't been replaced. Also blinds in one bedroom weren't attached and a towel holder was not secured in the wall. It just needed some maintenance TLC. It did however score high on having an excellent heating system very welcome in January weather. Also had iron, ironing board, washing machine, hairdryer. There's a lift to the floor below and only 10 stairs or so to the front door. The apartment is centrally located and has...
Read moreThis hotel is in a good location. Room was clean, very small bathroom. We stayed 4 nights, breakfast was ok. On the third night at 5.15a.m. I, as a light sleeper heard a very faint sound. I got up and opened the room door and the fire alarm was going off. We would easily have slept through it as no alarm in the room nor smoke detector. On reflection that has really scared me if it had been a real fire!!! I woke my husband and grandson and we immediately went down the stairwell to wait outside in the square. After 10 mins the girl on the staff was laughing and said it was a false alarm. We all headed back to our rooms. I was last up stairs but got very upset as a man was banging on a door in a terrible panic as though he hadn’t managed to get through it to leave the building. A member of staff was on that landing and used a key to get him free. Got back to bed and it went off again at 6.30 a.m. so left building again. It was another false alarm. They need to upgrade their rooms for health and safety. Wouldn’t...
Read moreI booked early with cancellation options. I paid in advance for an air-conditioned room. After our first night's stay, I advised the reception that the AC was not working and was told that they were aware of this problem, but it was only on the floor of our room and we were welcome to come down to reception everytime the AC stopped. I said that coming down to reception multiple times throughout the night was not satisfactory and was told that it would be okay because the reception was staffed all night. I would rather (and expect) a room with the specifications I paid for, to be able to sleep through the night instead of travelling up and down to reception, or to be advised in advance of the issue so that we could cancel our booking and find a hotel that were able to provide what they advertised. To knowingly put us in a room they knew to be below specifications, without giving any chance to make an informed choice about whether to proceed with the booking, is very poor ethics and...
