Lovely comfortable beds, professional staff who look after your every need, staff speak multiple languages and more than willing to please. We booked the “Junior Suite” and found their was no USB power chargers in the room, and when asking at the front desk they loaned a French powered USB charger for our stay.
The location is very convenient in central proximity to La petite French district, Cathedral, and the tram stop. You can catch the “D” route tram from Strasbourg Central railway station for a few minutes trip to the centre of Strasbourg and then a 3 minute walk to the hotel.
If you book with breakfast included you’ll be pleased with a superb breakfast, with freshly squeezed orange juice, freshly made coffee, selection of teas, seasonal produce in the buffet, danishes and fresh bread selections, and lots of comfortable seating. Our room included a spa, separate, toilet, dimmer lights, Large screen TV (with 95% French speaking channels) plus movies, king size comfortable bed. Windows were double glazed and also had powered shutters which acted as curtains. We found the room extremely quiet at night.
There is only one key provided for the room and it is on a very heavy key chain so when you are popping out for day trips you leave the key with the front desk. Read moreI’d like to express my deepest gratitude to Amelie, the receptionist at Hannong Hotel. I arrived late in the evening without a reservation, urgently needing a room and a detailed receipt for reimbursement. Amelie handled everything with remarkable efficiency and warmth. She not only found me a suitable room on short notice but went above and beyond by translating the receipt from French into English, manually adding the specific details I required, and ensuring both a printed and an emailed copy were accurate.
Her thorough approach and quick thinking saved me from a stressful situation, especially after a disappointing experience elsewhere. Moreover, Amelie’s professionalism, linguistic expertise, and genuine kindness exemplify a level of dedication that is rare to find. She was patient, articulate, and truly committed to guest satisfaction.
It’s evident that Amelie’s contribution to the Hannong Hotel team is invaluable. She consistently demonstrates the kind of proactive, empathetic service that leaves a lasting impression on guests. I strongly believe she deserves recognition for her performance—ideally through a raise or promotion. I will gladly return to Hannong Hotel and recommend it to others, largely thanks to her exceptional...
Read moreFirst, the room size was ridiculously small. My partner (6’1”) and I (5’8”) could not walk around the room at the same time without bumping into each other or the furniture. It felt cramped and uncomfortable, especially for two people.
Second, there was an electricity issue in the bathroom, with the light constantly flashing. When I called for service, I was told there was nothing they could do. I was shocked they didn’t offer to move us to another room instead of leaving us to deal with it.
Third, the noise levels were unbearable. At night, I could hear every sound from the neighboring rooms, making it impossible to sleep properly. The lack of soundproofing is a serious issue.
Adding to the discomfort, our room was located opposite a lamp post, which kept the room incredibly bright all night. The curtains didn’t do much to block the light.
Finally, the room had no proper heating system (we visited during christmas and the temperature was something near or below zero…)The only thing provided was a tiny heater under the window, which did almost nothing to warm the space.
Considering the price we paid and how cold it was during our stay, this whole experience was unacceptable.
