Good beer with good Happy Hour prices but unfortunately the service is inexcusably awful (and also just plain rude, even by french standards). Just another french bar trying to do "craft beer pub vibes" so so SO badly. On Saturday they were over 8 people working that I could see but they were completely unorganised. Everytime I wanted to order something I had to track down one person in particular. I couldn't order at the bar. At one point, I waited 15 mins at the nearly empty bar (that had two bar people working behind it) to finally be acknowledged and then told that I had to order from someone else. So I did, she gave me a table number (for a pint) and then told me I had to pay for it on the spot (which is fine, but literally there is no need for me to have a table number that I have carry about with me?). Before I even paid, another member of staff handed me my pint (but neither of the 2 people behind the bar we were standing by). So ridiculous. I also order ketchup for fries later in the evening and I had eventually to go to the kitchen and ask for it myself. The ketchup I ordered (after, again, tracking down the person I had to order specifically from, even if I was sat at the bar...) arrived about 30 mins after the fries arrived. Just as a note to the manager, I've worked in many craft beer bars, I really think you need to rework the organisation. It's a shame, there are some really nice chill bars nearby, this is the only bar in Strasbourg I went to that had such shocking...
Read moreSo, we went to Le Grand Tigre in Strasbourg with a group of six, and it was definitely an experience. The atmosphere is pretty lively, a real classic brasserie feel, which was great for a group outing. It's a big place, so it can get a bit noisy, but it adds to the buzz.
The 1-liter tap beer was a definite highlight. It's a fun novelty, and the beer itself was tasty. It's a good choice if you're looking for something local and shareable.
Food-wise, there were some definite wins. The double smash burger was solid â juicy, well-seasoned, and a good portion. The PavĂ© de bĆuf persillĂ© was also a hit; the beef was good quality and cooked nicely. And the homemade chocolate cake with crĂšme anglaise was a rich and satisfying dessert.
Now, it's a brasserie, so expect hearty portions and traditional fare. It's not fine dining, but it's good, honest food. It's definitely a place for a relaxed, casual meal. If you're looking for something refined or quiet, this might not be your spot. But if you want a fun atmosphere, good beer, and classic brasserie food, Le Grand Tigre is worth checking out. It was a good night out...
Read moreWe first came to this place the moment it first opened . The staff at that time was very careful and nice with the clients. Knowing that we had a previous good experience, we decided to come back tonight 06/11/2021. But we have a made a very big mistake that costed us a lot of our time. To begin with, we werenât welcomed nicely at all right from the entrance. There is an older lady with blonde hair wearing glasses working there and I have to say that she treated us soo horribly and cold. She gave us a table for two and then left. Never returning to take our order. The place was not at all full for a Saturday night but still NOBODY took our order for 35 freaking MINUTES!!!!! The old lady working there was looking at us and then turning her back at us several times. We didnât understand if she had something against us or maybe she hates her job?! Very very horrible treated by the staff. Thereâs no professionalism at all. Will never return back there ever again. Go to METEOR, itâs only a street far away and the service is sooo much better with very...
