CANAL Artisanal Ice cream & pastry — Restaurant in Berlin

I saw their page on Instagram and wanted to give it a try even though I live very far away from they location. Arrived 12min before the opening and asked them if they can serve me to go since I didn't want to sit inside and just wanted a box to go to take to my friend. The stuff was so rude, they were yelling we open at 12 and not even 1 minute before. I totally understand that we should respect opening hours but they could have said this in a nice way since I was a new customer. It bad that when a store becomes successful they forget to treat customers in a respectful way. Pity!!! I'm sorry, the shop opens at 12, and at 16 eclairs are all finished - on the weekend?!?!? How is it possible, if it's one of their 2 main products? Feels like a joke. I went then for ice cream: I took 6 flavours to bring to friends, and guess what? They don't even have the proper ice cream boxes... so they piled up the different flavours in a vertical way, meaning if you want the bottom flavour, you need to "remove" all the others on top. And this is their second main product. How is it even possible?

Both eclairs and ice cream are very good, but what the hell of a business is that (and we don't even talk about customer experience), if you are not even able to sell properly? That's why...

N’ice cream 😊 We had chocolate with brownie, good brownie (with some (wal)nuts in them I think, menu didn’t say so), but the chocolate I don’t know if I liked it, very different taste!? The banana dulce de leche was really good, not as heavy as it sounds! My girlfriend had ‘hazelnut financier’ (apparently that’s with a sort of sponge cake with a flavor), we’d never heard of that, was nice too. Definitely will be back for more the next time.

There was a thing that we had never encountered before, that they had ‘premium flavors’ with extra costs! That was a downside, especially because all 3 flavors we chose were premium 🤪 😆 Friendly multi lingual...
