The Illuseum was super interesting, and I can only imagine how much love and effort went into creating each experiment. Major props to the artists behind it – I had a blast exploring the exhibit! The kids and I were especially blown away by the black-and-white room where gravity seemed to go completely haywire, but honestly, the rest of the exhibition was awesome, too!
The suggested time of about an hour is pretty spot on, especially if you're taking the time to read through some of the explanations or want to try out an experiment more than once. If you’re there with kids, though, you might zip through it a bit faster, and then the price might feel a little steep. Still, I reckon it's pretty fair for what you get.
I bought the tickets online, and from the website, it seemed like the only way to book was to reserve a full hour and pay upfront. They also give you a heads-up on how many spots are left, which was handy, but it ended up being way more crowded than I had expected, which kind of took away from the overall experience.
On the plus side, the staff were super friendly and really seemed to enjoy being there. In the end, we spent about 50 minutes having a good time, took some funny photos, and I’d definitely recommend checking it out. Thanks for the...
Read moreI don't even know where to start... So SO disappointed by this place. I consider myself to be a big kid and I am amazed and fascinated by pretty much everything involving science, reflexion and mind-twisting illusions and puzzles… But let me tell you this: 12€ for this museum is UNACCEPTABLE. I was expecting 2 maybe 3 floors a little bit like Camera Obscura & World of Illusions (which is ~ £16 for an adult) but this is nothing comparable. I think my garage is bigger than this. When we got to the last ‘room’ we had to retrace our steps to make sure we didn’t miss anything. I spent 1/4h with a jigsaw puzzle and the rest took us 10 minutes maximum. I can’t even say that this would be an fun thing to do with your kids as it was terribly crowded, you couldn’t move at all and had to queue to see the ‘attractions’. Maybe it would be a good idea to control the number of people entering the exposition so everyone can enjoy it as well as lowering the price of the entrance? If the content was ‘never seen before’ I would have put another star but this is nothing original, you can literally see everything they have hanging on their walls on Reddit, Facebook even…. Save your money, DO...
Read moreThe Illuseum museum consists of 50 illusions which are either visual or interactive. A fun place to visit if you are in the vicinity and have time to spare, it would take up to an hour or two at this location.
Visitors are encouraged to take pictures and have fun, while staff are around to assist in any questions about the illusions or need someone to help with taking pictures.
However, it would be best to purchase tickets in advance online, or in person with a set time and day in mind. The museum is not very big and at times they do have to turn away walk-ins due to large groups from schools or events which have booked a time slot or are overcrowded by walk-ins who are already in the museum. If you're lucky, you can try again in a couple of hours or may even need to walk-in again on another day. Hence, it is best to make reservations in advance in order to avoid any delays or mess in your schedule, especially if you are only ...
