Espresso House — Restaurant in Berlin

It was a very disappointing experience. I ordered an iced Macadamia White Chocolat Latte and some carrot cake to eat in the cafe at around 6 pm. When I received the drink I was shocked to see they made it in a plastic cup instead of the usual porcelain. The barista reacted in a rude way, saying they didn't have anymore glasses. Looking around the tables in the coffee house, they were all filled with used glasses that they didn't manage to clean. The coffee didn't taste nice either. It was supposed to be macadamia white Chocolat Latte, but it only tasted like a normal Latte with sugar. Additionally, the cake was as hard as a brick, tasting like it had been laying around for days already. Lastly, I wonder why it already closes at 7 pm at a crowed tourist hotspot (money) . The sun shines up until 10 pm in summer, so why is it closed like in some little village? Sad and annoying. It's even worse at Potsdamer Platz Espresso House, which closes at 6 pm despite the area being crowed...

Wanted to grab a coffee with my friends, since we had a great experience in Espresso House in Bremen. However, this time it was not the same.

I ordered and payed for a Christmas Latte and only after payment the cashier told me they had no whipped cream, which I was looking forward, but I ended up ordering a simpler coffee.

After that, my friend went to pick up our orders and asked respectfully the male barista which one was the caramel latte and the normal latte. Instead of replying simply, he was extremely rude saying “I already told you twice” and didn’t even look at his face.

I understand that sometimes we are having a bad day, but you don’t have to be rude with a person that has no knowledge on coffee or whatsoever.

The actual coffee was nice but as tourists we found the staff rude. We are both learning German and tried our best to speak the language but felt ridiculed when the staff weren’t very friendly to us, pulled a face and just spoke back in English. Did not realise the coffees came in different sizes so did not specify and nobody asked us, so were quite shocked at how large the coffees we received were compared to what everyone else had. It seemed like they wanted us to spend more money so picked the larger size for us.
