Brand new facility, just weeks old! Our tour guide took us to the new Humbolt Forum rooftop and on our way out, we peeked into this restaurant, and marveled at how beautiful it was. Well the next day we ended up back in the area and hungry, so we decided to be a little extra and have a fancier dinner. 🥰
▪️ What I loved: Lobster Bisque 🦞 (hummer-bisque, you could tell it was real, not as creamy as I’m used to but it had some delicious lobster ravioli in it), coq au vin, and the Mandel Financier (crunchy honey comb exterior 🍯 with a tart fruity inside 🍒, I would suggest seeing if you could get some of the vanilla ice cream that comes with the crème brûlée with it, ‘‘twas like eating a creamy crunchy cobbler, 👌perfection). ▪️ Size: Medium. ▪️ Service: Attentive and kind. They all worked as a team to ensure we received the best service they could offer. ▪️ Price: It’s fancier so the price is higher, but the experience is worth it. 😍 We paid about 130€ for 2 waters, 1 beer, 1 wine, 1 app, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, and an espresso. ▪️ Scenic view: Gorgeous view of the Berlin Cathedral from the window where we sat and an absolutely pristine well put together interior. ▪️ Wait time: None when we went, but this place was brand spanking new. I’m assuming as time goes on it will become more popular. ▪️ Reservations: Yes. ▪️ Entertaiment: Not at the time. ▪️ Specials: I feel like the entire menu is most likely a special. ▪️Dogs allowed: I wouldn’t think you could bring your dog inside, but I may be mistaken.
Felt special being one of the first people to eat and review this place. Definitely go to the visitor desk and request to go to the top for a gorgeous rooftop view...
Read moreWe left after the first course. The service was shocking… absolutely like never I have experienced. We were seated and left for 15 minutes. Finally when somebody came they had no idea how to advise us on the wine selection.
Eventually we were poured a little to try and It was white wine and it was warm… after explaining this we were told it’s because the fridge is broke but if we sat it in the ice bucket it would eventually get colder… we were left for another 10 minutes.. nobody explained how anything worked and what we should expect (it was a Christmas set menu)
We were brought bread and asked if we wanted more butter, we said yes and the butter never came.
First course came. Very average and one mussle. It’s now 45 minutes and the warm wine is still sitting in the bucket un-opened. Somebody beside us is paying and asking the waitress is there a shortage of staff, or is it because it’s such a newly opened restaurant that things are so bad.
Two other tables are also clearly upset at the fact they have entered, been seated and not being attended to. Not even water.
After looking around it seems nobody is eating. People are just talking and waiting and looking agitated at the lack of service.
At this point we decide to leave to avoid anymore disappointments. It’s such a shame because it’s so hyped and this was supposed to be an amazing, beautiful evening.
Lastly, we never complain. Feedback is so important and this space has potential to be exquisite. But, right now it absolutely is not.
I would not recommend. Over rated and...
Read moreThe food was good and the service was ok. But to be honest for 140 euros I would have expected something more. I have gone to places on this price range before and they had something unique about them. If you are going to serve 5 course menu with very little amount I expect a flavour that I have never encountered before or texture, which did not happen here. The food was good but nothing unique, I think. The restaurant itself is nice and has some history to it but I don't go to a place and pay that much money for the place itself I do it for the food and...
