Star Bäckerei — Restaurant in Berlin

Although the owner of Star Bäckerei was very nice, we found our whole breakfast experience very chaotic. This bakery is rather small, so there are only a handful of tables. Luckely we came in time so we could secure two tables and six chairs for our company of six.

We all ordered a breakfast menu with eggs, but we noticed that items were missing in all our orders. I ordered the Mediterranean breakfast and was lacking olives, Turkish tea, simit and chilli paste. We also had to ask multiple times for more bread. We did get some extra simit, but it was clear that the bread was still in the oven. So they couldn't give us any.

Luckily the big smiles and friendliness made up for the chaos. Moreover the food was really cheap and the two teenagers got free donuts. A mixed...

Sometimes rips off tourists. We lived in a hotel close by and went to buy bread in the morning. Four brötchen, a bretzel, and four croissants costed 11-12 euros. Last morning we just bought four croissants, and suddenly this costed 10 euros. And of course it was not possible to pay with card anymore. Sure, easy to identify us as tourists and the money straight to the pocket must have...

Great place. We were looking for a place to buy some pastry, borek, sandwiches. Even it was Sunday night, it was open and good was fresh and super delicious. The guy served us friendly, with good manners and caring. He gave extra bits for my kids, saying "all kids deserve sweets". Not pricy at all with this quality. What a great experience. Definitely...
