Dirty Rose - Spanish Tapas- & Cocktailbar — Restaurant in Berlin

The bar itself is really nice, with a great atmosphere, good music, and partly friendly staff, the girl who served us was very kind, patient, and professional.

Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience with another member of the staff. We stepped outside for a smoke, like many others had been doing for over an hour, and sat at one of the outdoor tables provided by the venue. There were no signs or warnings indicating that the table and chairs were broken. When we placed our drink down, the table collapsed and the glass fell.

Instead of checking if anyone was hurt or apologizing for the unsafe furniture, the staff member approached us in a rude, confrontational, and disrespectful way. He started complaining that drinks weren’t allowed outside even though several other customers had been going in and out with glasses without any issue all evening.

Rather than take any responsibility or show concern, he was aggressive with our entire group and ended the conversation with an extremely disrespectful remark that made us feel unwelcome and shocked by the attitude. To make things worse, he insulted us not once, but twice during the exchange.

It’s a real shame, because the venue has potential but this kind of behavior completely ruins the experience.

The food was really good and it came really fast, but the service and the staff was bad enough not wanting to go there again. First of all we had booked our reservation a week before and when we went there they acted like we didn’t have a reservation. The waitress spilled my drink a little and she didn’t offer me to bring me another one. Also another waiter was giving everyone free shots and he passed from our table and didn’t gave us a single think and I’m not saying that because we were desperate for the free shots OF COURSE, but that wasn’t polite at all. Another bad thing was that the waitress said to us to take our drinks but we didn’t have finished yet, and then 10’ later another waitress came and grab our drinks without saying ANYTHING. ANOTHER thing that happed, when we were getting ready to leave, the waiter came and took my friends chair a millisecond after she took her coat to wear it (like you’ve could at least wait a few seconds for us to leave or just ask her if she’s ok to take her chair). Last but not least the WC was really dirt! And the staff in general was really rude not professional at all, if you can’t interact with people (and I get it) don’t work in...

Maybe it's because I'm Spanish but I have not really enjoyed my visit here. Regarding the food, please just save yourself the heartbreak and don't order the croquettes. They were empty and very much not fresh. How can a croqueta be empty?? I didn't even know physics allowed for it. And, besides my personal feelings for croquettes, the food was just... Mid. I can't justify the amount and quality of food that I ate for over 40 euros, I just can't. Regarding the service, while the waitress was extremely nice and helpful, the waiter was very obviously having a bad day. He was snappy and rude, condescending when we were asking about the food and he replied "yeah well this is tapas" (believe me, I know what tapas are), and then he slammed down our menus in frustration. I understand customer service is not the funniest and we are all allowed to have bad days but there was absolutely no need to be so unpleasant. None. So no I don't think I'll be returning here.
