Tausend — Restaurant in Berlin

“Photos not allowed inside”. We celebrated New Year’s here, and, naturally, you might have certain expectations for such a special night. But… honestly, we didn’t like it.

First, we spent quite some time just trying to find the entrance. It was freezing outside, and it turned out to be a hidden door. Fine, we finally got in. Then, we had to pay for the coat check just to leave our stuff—seriously, what kind of nonsense is that?

Next, we had to find a place to sit, even though we had bought our tickets months in advance. Turns out, that didn’t really mean anything. You don’t get a reserved table, just entry. Whatever, we managed to find seats.

Then came the cocktails. They were terrible. We gave it another try and ordered different ones—still awful. And the prices were ridiculously high. At first, I thought maybe I was just being too picky since I’ve had plenty of amazing cocktails and even have bartender friends. But no—none of us liked them. They were either too sour or too bitter, just not enjoyable at all.

The music was nothing special either, despite the lineup promising big-name DJs.

Overall, we had a decent time because we were with a great group of friends, and we can have fun anywhere. But the bar itself didn’t add anything special...

This is my absolute favourite bar in Berlin. We had to go three separate times before it was open so call ahead if you can! One day it was just closed, the next a commercial was shooting there but the owner was very apologetic and kind. The wait was well worth it. It is beautiful on the inside and definitely not an inexpensive place but well worth it.

First you walk in and a dapper gentleman asks if you have a reservation for the restaurant in the back. If you say no and it's full you can hang in the bar and have a cocktail or/and cigar while your table is cleaned. They will come get you when it is ready and you can even turn it down if you just want to stay in the bar! There is coat check on your way to the bar also.

The bar is narrow but incredibly well lit. It's very much like a noir film. You can grab a booth or sit at the bar. They have a unique cigar menu where they bring the cutters and allow you to get it started. I had the white russian which was delicious! They make it with a thick liquor and cream foam on the top. It's like nothing else you have had! Definitely talk to the bartenders as they really know how to make a drink!

When we went there was a live band playing which was great. It was a jazz/eurythmic...

Me and my boyfriend read a lot about this place and where very curious. We did not had a reservation but tried our luck and went anyway. It was hard to find but when we saw a large group entering a metal door we thought "that must be the place". We were welcomed very friendly which we did not expected since we had no reservation. We where escorted to the restaurant where we had an amazing dinner. The food was awesome, very good quality. Also the price is very reasonable (to my opinion not expensive for such good quality. We paid 130 euro for 2 persons (starter, maincourse, desert and a bottle of wine) After our dinner we had some drinks at the bar and enjoyed the music. I can only say we had a great evening. Amazing food....beautiful place.... friendly staff. If you go to Berlin I would definately...
