Update: Owners try to tune their review scores by sending a lawyer after all reviews that score too low. Very poor business practice and ethics!
Cool concept, with all of the furniture and decoration in this café being available for sale. Unfortunately, the service is slow, the coffee mistreated and the food options uninspiring.
The place itself with its creative design and concept is quite hip. But it is a shame that the service is a bit slow and not particularly friendly. The coffee beans, which are good and offer a good flavour profile are sadly „mistreated“ due to poor barista routines: dirty, rancid grinders + oxidized beans + burned in the extraction process = a bad coffee experience that hits your stomach like fury, after you experience a blend of pleasant malt and caramel notes with a bitter, burnt taste. A shame really, as the latte art skills proof this place could do better.
Also an awkward choice is that the coffee menu only offers a large, mug-sized cappuccino, and essentially positioning it closer to that German latte macchiato sacrilege.
Food is where this place falls seriously short. The menu is uninspiring, the presentation of the meals boring to utterly unappetizing. You wait a long time for what is rather average brunch food, which is a shame in a city that can draw pride and inspiration from places like Velvet. Price and quality just don’t add up and this place simply cannot be recommended to food and coffee lovers, but is a nice Insta backdrop and something for interior design...
Read moreI never write negative review BUT I came to Düsseldorf from Australia for the Christmas market and only had one day in the city. Our hotel recommended this place and it could not possibly have been more disappointing. We stood outside in the cold waiting for a table for 20 minutes. Then we were given a table in the corner looking out over construction. The place was so claustrophobic. Service was shocking. All three coffee orders were wrong and just ghastly. Then the food came. I got a dried bagel which had not been warmed or crisped. My daughters Avo on Toast was soggy but worst of all is that the third meal came with soft eggs which my daughter had expressly asked for hard so when she asked them to redo it , the waitress said you can’t make hard poached eggs !! She took the meal away and it arrived long after we had finished our breakfast. Yes , the restaurant was busy but people don’t pay less cause they busy and it’s a lot of money to spend on such a disappointing meal ! Management and staff must respect people’s money and time and the fact that their restaurant was chosen. I felt like a...
Read moreThe atmosphere was lovely, the space was well designed, clean and the lighting created an ambient and calm dining experience.
The prices were quite steep, the proximity to the train station may have contributed to this, it was very close to the station and bus stops.
There was a decent menu, not a wild variety, but enough to suit the needs of most. We each ordered the Tropical Pancakes which were beautifully presented with a diverse array of fruits and maple syrup. These were absolutely delicious!
The servers were very friendly and welcoming and spoke English.
The menu was viewable by scanning a QR code and viewing it on the phone. This was slightly problematic as my internet connection was very slow, but I got there in the end.
I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Düsseldorf and needing a place for a quick...
