HANS IM GLÜCK - DÜSSELDORF Kö-Bogen II — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

Last time I was there the burger and fries were cold, plus the service quite slow for an empty place. Today I came back and:

1. there were two people in front (one serving the other one giving the back to the customers and with a rude attitude). There is a sign that says "please wait to be seated" and no one was able to welcome us, say where to seat or explain the order system.
2. we took a look at the menu and then waited and waited to be attended when the place was pretty much empty.
3. another couple in front of us asked to be attended to order and the waiter said in a very unfriendly way that there was a QR code to order, so if they wanted anything they had to go through that system. When he was already next to them... I didn't want to be exposed to such poor attention so we just left.

My evaluation in regards to food belongs to the last time I went there (2024). The rest is considering both previous and current experience.

The burger was criminally overdone. The staff told me that they grill all the burgers together and hence the customer cannot choose how cooked they want it. And therefore they decide to serve them all "very well done".

I find this quite surprising for a place that it´s actually a "burgergrill" and where the specialty are the burgers - and definitely not the overpriced drinks (5€ a 0,5l beer, 10€ cocktails).

The atmosphere inside is nice and the waiter was kind and polite, but I really didn´t appreciate the extremely thorough corona scan at the entrance (vaccine passport, ID, test...-_-). I know this is common practice these days but other restaurants take it...

First off, the waitress was very kind and helpful, so that is always a good thing. The burgers however, are all grilled for the same time and they don't take requests. We asked about that, thinking it might be a German rule for safety, but it was just because it was "more practical". Yet, this efficiency tactic was not reflected in the swiftness of the service. We waited for 30+ minutes for our food. It was burgers and fries, not paella. You can choose your type of bun, but anything other than brioche is too dry. Their fries were good, but their sauces and beverages were way too sweet. The bathroom lights were out, there was no paper and the toilets...
