MR. BENS Café Düsseldorf — Restaurant in Dusseldorf

I recently visited Mr. Ben’s Cafe and had a mixed experience. The food was generally tasty, but there were a few service issues that could be improved.

The service seemed to start too early, and some ingredients were being bought during the course of service, which caused delays. There was also only one person running the show, which made it difficult to handle the demands of serving 24 people at once. I believe it would be beneficial for them to have someone assist with either cooking or managing drinks, like a barista.

On the positive side, the Trut chicken bacon was absolutely delicious, and the banana bread with chocolate was soft, moist, and very tasty. However, our second brunch order was delayed, especially the scrambled eggs, which took nearly an hour to arrive. When they did come, the taste was great, but the feta was still quite cold, which was a bit disappointing.

Overall, while the food has potential, I think the cafe needs to streamline its service and possibly add more staff to handle busy...

The location is great and the staffs are very friendly and nice too. They have a wide range of drinks and food too. However when it comes to food quality we have to be a bit critical. We ordered the egg and pancakes. Both were a bit disappointing. Pancakes were rather hard and not so great. The egg was not well cooked and the toast beside it were rather hard and not so fresh. Also the coffees were disappointing too, not so hot and not so creamy. The interior is well designed and well decorated but is rather the sitting is very close to each other and was very hard to sit or even leave without disturbing other guests. Hope we see some...

We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning, which is understandably a busy time. However, we waited around 30 minutes just for drinks, and after over an hour with no sign of our food (just a sandwich and pancakes), we decided to leave. The staff was kind and apologetic, explaining that only one person was cooking. While I appreciate their effort, I have to question the management—if you know Saturdays are busy, why not have more help in the kitchen?
