Elaine's Greenhouse — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Beautiful and well decorated location. The aperitif and mocktail were very tasty. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. Now to the most important part, the food. As we were a large group, we were offered a set menu with various starters and had to choose a main course in advance. The starters were very tasty. We had very good bread with salted butter, tuna and steak tartare, salad nicoise and courgette carpaccio. For the main course I had the miso salmon. Unfortunately, it was quite dry and didn't really taste of miso and the side dishes weren't good either. The fregola sarda was very salty and tasted like vegetable broth and some of the bimi broccoli was also very over-salted, and I normally like to add salt. The food on the plate was also very poorly presented. For others, the side dish of chips was simply forgotten and therefore arrived too late. The dessert, chocolate mousse, was nice. Overall, I would have expected more from the food in this price category and don't think the price-performance ratio is appropriate. Hello, coming back to describe my feedback. I found the place nice and cozy and it made a good impression at first. However, compared to other places I’ve been so far, we wouldn’t come here again for business dinner. It was quite average for food and service quality despite above-average price. Hence, I rated it average (3/5).

I had a duck with spinach as a side dish - nothing special worth the price. Our servant was not very accurate/attentive and eventually dropped wine into my plate - he asked to change the souse but the duck was already swimming in wine and the impression was already made. The servant didn’t clean the table from the spilled wine so I had to do it myself with a napkin. I was lucky it didn’t spill on my clothes. What a beautiful restaurant. When I'm visiting Frankfurt, I love coming here. The restaurant is hidden away between the soulless Volkenkratzer and is something like the counterpart to the tall buildings. The restaurant has the charm of a botanical winter garden. Very personal and friendly, I've always felt very comfortable here. The menu impresses with quality rather than quantity. I think I captured the ambience well in my photo.
