Papay Restaurant — Restaurant in Frankfurt

It is horrible! The food is not authentic at all! The service is very slow and not professional at all. You sit there for dining in and then you find that all the tables are dirty and have garbage on them. You ask the employees four times until they finally clean table! Then the food arrives and you have to wait while the food is getting cold because they did not bring the fork or bread first. Then of course you have to ask them several times until they bring them. As I said the food is not authentic and not delicious at all. I know my cuisine and how it should be. The fattoush salad they serve is a joke. It has less than half of the ingredients that it should have. It is not even done right with ingredients they used. They shouldn't even then call it fattoush anymore. The barbecue dish also is not delicious at all and doesn't taste like anything we have in the Middle East. It also lacks grilled onions and tomatoes in it as usually Middle Eastern barbecues are done. The sauce they put with the barbecue is too less that it is finished before finishing half of the dish. The dish is not even too cheap, so there should be enough sauces. I have been to cheaper restaurants and they had better food and service. Never again visiting this restaurant. I had a disappointing experience at this place. The service employee handed me the menu, but when I tried to order fried chicken, I was told it wasn’t available. Then, I asked for shawarma meat, only to be informed that only chicken shawarma was available. It was frustrating to be given a full menu when there was only one option available.

The service communication was below expectations, as it wasn’t clear what was actually available from the start. As a suggestion, the restaurant should respect customers by either updating the menu to reflect the available items or informing them upfront about any limitations. Good Shawarma and the prices are also reasonable. Meat is well cooked. Though the food is tasty but I find it rather basic Shawarma with not many options to add like sauces etc. So if you want a well cooked basic Shawarma, this is the right place but if you are looking at something fancier then not.

My one complaint is that it became cold too quickly. Apparently meat was taken early from grill and took some time to reach my table 🙂.
