SCHMARRNSINN - Erstes Kaiserschmarrn Café Deutschlands! — Restaurant in Frankfurt

I was really looking forward to trying Kaiserschmarrn again after a long time, especially something that claimed to be traditional and “typisch deutsch.” Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing.

The place gave off serious Royal Donuts vibes — something that got big mainly through Instagram and flashy marketing. While we were there, a steady stream of Wolt delivery drivers came in and out, so I assume it's popular for being “camera food” rather than something genuinely good.

Taste-wise, it missed the mark completely. Kaiserschmarrn should be light, fluffy, and slightly crispy on the edges — this was oily, heavy, and felt more microwaved than freshly made. For €13 per portion, the quality just wasn’t there.

What made it worse was that even though we were the only guests in the shop, we still had to wait while three staff members seemed to work on online orders over in-person customers. Not exactly a warm or welcoming service experience.

The location also doesn't help. It's hidden in a back courtyard and feels like a basic food court setup — the air smelled of fried food from neighboring stalls, not the cozy, sweet aroma you'd expect from a place serving Kaiserschmarrn. No Hüttenfeeling whatsoever.

I also fully agree with other reviews here: the fluffiness was lacking, portions were overpriced, toppings were extra, and the whole atmosphere was off. For three basic portions and toppings, €50+ is just not justified.

Maybe okay for a quick snack during lunch break if you’re nearby, but not a place I’d recommend as a culinary destination. The concept sadly...

Such a fun place to get a delicious dessert. We got the Bueno Strawberry Schmarren (€12.90) and the Classic Love Schmarren (€7.90) as well as the delicious Almdudler (€3.50) which was a drink I have never tried before, but quickly fell in love with. There are so many different options with the ability to add in extra toppings as desired. The pancake itself was absolutely delicious and the flavors blended together very nicely. We shared two between three people and if we hadn’t just come from dinner we could have easily gotten two more. I love that this shop is in a mini food court with other restaurants available to choose from so you can have a dinner and dessert all in one place. Additionally there is very nice seating located upstairs, with a lovely atmosphere....

Kaiserschmarrn mal kreativ und im hübschen Gewand.

Die eigentliche location das italienische Restaurant gibt es hier schon länger an der Ecke. Die Kaiserschmarrn Entwickler vom Schmarrnsinn sind hier nun Teil des Restaurants geworden zumindestens am Wochenende.

Ganz klar steht hier der Kaiserschmarrn im Mittelpunkt. Es gibt eine kleine Auswahl von fertigen Creationen man kann sich seinen Kaiserschmarrn und die dazugehörigen Toppings aber auch selbst zusammenstellen. Im Schnitt liegen die Portionen bei ca 13 €.

Schön anzusehen sind die kleinen Kreationen auf jeden Fall. Soweit möglich wird auch alles frisch zubereitet und angerichtet. Leider merkt man dass es hier zeitlich immer ein wenig knapp wird den Teig Fluss die Zusammenstellung rechtzeitig fertig zu machen. Manchmal wirkt es auch am Tresen ein wenig konfus hier gibt es auf jeden Fall noch organisatorischen Verbesserungsbedarf.

Die Getränke kann man gleich mitbestellen werden aber vom Restaurant bereitgestellt. Je durch ergibt sich eine etwas komische Situation die viele Gäste nicht ganz verstehen. Wann bekommt ein Pieper und der summt beim ersten Mal für die Getränke und diesen nimmt man dann wieder mit so dass wenn er ein zweites Mal summt einem das fertige Essen anzeigt.

Die Kaiserschmarrn Portion sehen auf jeden Fall kleiner aus als sie sind. Je nachdem was man bestellt hat kommen noch Früchte Soßen und weitere Toppings hinzu die den Kaiserschmarrn verbessern.

Jedoch ist der Besuch als kleiner Snack nicht gerade günstig. Ich hatte einen Kaiserschmarrn und zusätzlich noch einen Aperol Spritz und ganz schnell 20 € insgesamt zusammen.

Aktuell bei dem guten Wetter wollen natürlich alle draußen sitzen. Somit gibt es ab einer gewissen Uhrzeit ziemlich schnell einen Rang auf freie Plätze. Im Allgemeinen muss man ein wenig Zeit mitbringen da die Zubereitung und Fertigstellung doch etwas dauert.
