Tequila Cantina y Bar - Frankfurt am Main — Restaurant in Frankfurt

My friend and I decided to try this place this evening... being from Texas we LOVE Mexican cuisine. Entered the restaurant, super cute decor. Drinks came fast, 2 tequila shots and a large water. Waited and waited for the food.... finally 2 plates with street tacos appeared. I had the ground beef, she had the chicken.... only decent. Then we got the avocado smash. You would think this would be prepared and served table side, no..... we were presented with a dish with a bowl with a avocado cut in half and several small dishes of garnish. I guess its "fun" to prepare your own appetizer? 2 stars for the chips, warm and tasty! There was an older asian lady running around bussing tables and delivering food. I am assuming the owner? Please educate your server how to handle customers. I asked her to pay and 15-20 minutes later she walked right by our table avoiding us. I then walked to the bar to speak to her, she said "do you want to pay?" Unacceptable service/food since there are too many great restaurants...

My fav place for real Mexican food is closed on mondays and I was looking for a place to eat Mexican food, and although the difference between Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican food is huge, the good reviews encouraged me to have dinner here. The food is bad and expensive, no question about it. I don't know about the drinks, but how can they justify charging €9 for a non-alcoholic drink that's barely 250 ml? A very cozy and nice place to dine with a couple of friends. We reserved a table and it was rather difficult to get someone on the phone. But eventually everything worked out well. We ordered the Fajitas and were even offered some more sides if we needed them. The staff is incredibly friendly. The food itself was tasty, the drinks were rather pricy.
