Here’s a review for Schrieder’s Restaurant & Bar at the Hilton in Heidelberg based on your experience:
We recently spent a weekend in Heidelberg, Germany, to explore the city and visit family. As usual, we opted for a Hilton hotel since we’re fans of their reliability. Normally, we don’t eat lunch or dinner at the hotel restaurant during a short stay, preferring to venture out instead. This time, though, one of our kids wasn’t feeling well, so we decided to hang out with family at the hotel and let our little guy rest in the room. That led us to try lunch at Schrieder’s Restaurant & Bar—and we were pleasantly surprised. The menu was solid, with a nice variety of options, and the food was well-prepared and tasty. The restaurant itself has a great vibe—the seating area sits beneath an all-glass ceiling, which is the centerpiece of the hotel. It lets in tons of natural sunlight, making it a bright and inviting spot to enjoy a meal. Being able to get good food without leaving the hotel was a huge bonus, especially with a sick kid in tow. The staff was accommodating, and everything came together to make it a stress-free experience. We also had breakfast there during our stay, and it was good—perfectly fine for hotel guests, though I wouldn’t recommend making a special trip for it if you’re not staying at the Hilton. For lunch or dinner, though, Schrieder’s exceeded our expectations. It’s a convenient, quality option we’d happily turn to again if we’re back in Heidelberg.

Read moreOnce in a month on the first Sunday Schrieder’s restaurant in Heidelberg’s Hilton hotel offers a Sunday brunch buffet for 69 EUR including soft drinks and wine. The buffet spread wasn’t that wide and varied; it featured some local and international dishes with a wannabe Italian touch. The regional potatoe soup was an excellent starter. The few seafood and meats in terms of vitelo tonato or roast beef tasted bland and were surely cheaply acqusitioned. Staff and chefs were courteous and respectuous, however young, unexperienced and poorly trained. They offered with the roast beef a hollandaise sauce instead of a thick red wine jus. The roast wild boar coated in bacon and aromatized with sage tasted bland and was tough to chew. A single dish however made a good impression: the char filet with a white sage-infused sauce; it was fresh and the flavour was magnificent. The desserts are not worth mentioning at all; just unsofisticated local stuff. The white and red wines were plain and caused a unbearable headache later on. My body rebelled and expelled all that nonsense after very short time. All in all it was an absolute disappointment which I don’t...
Read moreWe were not satisfied with our dinner and was craving more meat, so we strolled into the restaurant since we were staying at the hotel. Ordered the beef cheeks. The beef was over done, and the sauce mmm didn't really add much to the flavor.. potato mash was not bad.. I like the peppercorns that was sprinkled on the sauce, gives the occasional pepper burst when crunched on. Atmosphere of the place was very nice for a date. The service was very good except at the end when the service person totally forgot that we asked...
