A Hidden Gem for Coffee and Pastry Lovers!

I recently stumbled upon this charming coffee shop, and it has quickly become my favorite spot in town. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the warm aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sight of a pastry display that looks like it belongs in a Parisian bakery.

The pastries are, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had. Each one is a work of art, flaky and buttery, with the perfect balance of sweetness. Whether it’s a classic croissant, a decadent chocolate éclair, or a seasonal fruit tart, every bite is pure bliss. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put a lot of love into their baking.

The coffee selection is equally impressive. They offer a wide variety of options, from rich, bold espressos to smooth, creamy lattes. They even have unique house blends that change regularly, keeping things exciting for regulars like me. The baristas are skilled and passionate about their craft, making each cup with care.

What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make you feel at home. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular, they greet you with a smile and treat you like family. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back again and again.

The chai latte is a disaster. Frankly, the worst and most overpriced we’ve ever had. It is way too spicy and watery, with a strong black peppery taste & lacking creaminess and any sweet, cinnamon-y flavour. As if they just diluted some milk with water and black pepper only. 4/10

The matcha latte, though, was delicious - creamy and rich in taste, but a bit overpriced - £5, so 7/10. There’s cheaper and better matcha in nearby cafés like at Hey Du (Altstadt), so I’d rather just go there.

Aprés doesn’t really stand out crazy much, it’s your average modern, overpriced, hipster-y, bland venue, targeting the loaded younger generation. It’s kind of small and offers three small tables and four standing seats only, but it’s good for the ‘aesthetic’ wanna-be Instagram...

Ich bin hier hergekommen, weil ich dringend auf der Suche nach einem guten Matcha war und dieser Ort mir vorgeschlagen wurde. Gutes vorab: Die Bedienung ist freundlich und das Café ist wirklich goldig. Weit genug von dem Stadtkern weg, um in einer ruhigen Lage zu sein und dennoch weit genug, dass man leicht dorthin gelangen kann. Man fühlt sich wie in seinem eigenen, ästhetischen Film, wenn man hier ist. Das Pistazien-Croissant war GÖTTLICH, ich glaube ich habe selbst in Italien kein so gutes Croissant gegessen. Und der Iced Matcha hat mich auch positiv überrascht. Es war nicht dieses süßliche Fertigzeugs, was man sonst bei Starbucks und Co bekommt, sondern wurde wirklich vor Ort mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Dadurch muss man vielleicht ein kleines bisschen länger warten, aber das ist es wert. Es gibt viele Variationen, was Milch angeht bei den Getränken: Hafermilch, laktosefreie Milch, Mandelmilch…hat mich richtig happy gemacht :D Für meine lieben Mitstudis: Es gibt vereinzelt Steckdosen und sehr gutes Wlan. Ihr seid hier also in einem Studententräumchen angekommen.

Die einzigen Mankos: Ich war an einem schön sonnigen Sommertag hier und die Tische draußen standen direkt in der prallen Sonne und innen drinnen war es so heiß, dass mir schon nach wenigen Sekunden die Brühe runterlief. Da würden vielleicht eine Klimaanlage drinnen und Sonnenschirme draußen aushelfen und es war ehrlich schade, weil ich einen längeren Aufenthalt mit so 2 Getränken geplant hatte aber notgedrungen schon nach einem Matcha gehen musste, weil es so unerträglich heiß war. Es gibt außerdem nur wenige Sitzplätze, was nicht unbedingt ein großes Manko ist, ich wollte es nur anmerken. Die Getränke sind auch ziemlich teuer im Gegensatz zu manch anderen Lokalitäten und dem, was man dafür bekommt. Der Matcha war z.B. ziemlich klein für meinen Geschmack und das für satte 5€.

Aber hier hat jemand auf jeden Fall viel Liebe in das Café reingesteckt und ich werde definitiv bald wieder auf einen Matcha...
