It was a mixed experience overall which could have still landed them a 4-star review, but the piece of trash in my beer glass sealed their 2-star fate.
When we arrived all of the outdoor seating was occupied so we decided to wait. Since my mother has difficulties with her knees, I decided to ask “whether it would be possible to get a table outside”. The male waiter who was serving indoors left it on me to spot a table and grab it. So we did that. There was no effort made to “provide service”, which was a bit of a bummer. The female waiter attending us later was very friendly and caring though, so that turned things around a little bit.
Then came the menu. At least two, maybe more, of the pizzas marked as vegetarian actually contained hard Italian cheese, which effectively renders them inedible for vegetarians. The selection itself wasn’t great. Ended up ordering one with portobello mushrooms with truffle oil, which turned out to be a massive err on my part. We ended up discarding half of the pizza, being left with the bad aftertaste. Though highly opinionated, we think that item shouldn’t have been on the menu at all. The pizza base itself was nice though. And that is the most unfortunate part because prior to the pizza we had a very tasty pizza bread as well as decent tomato soup which we thoroughly enjoyed. So the pizza afterwards marked the stark departure from all of the good part of the dining experience.
Based on all of the experience up to this point I would have still settled for a better review rating. But that is when I had my last sip of the beer, which exposed the literal “piece of trash” stuck to the inside of the glass’ wall.
They served me beer in a filthy glass and that is absolutely unacceptable under any circumstances.
Settling for 1 star would have been unfair to the friendly waitress and the delicious...
Read moreIt’s an Italian fusion place: pasta and pizza with creative flavours. I am always looking for unique food so I really like the concept of the menu! The flavours are really all over the place, incorporating German and other world ingredients, but I felt like my dish captured the spirit of a good pasta dish even if it wasn’t authentically Italian at all. The dish I got was called “Pinkes Glück”: pappardelle in cream sauce with beets and spinach. You could taste the earthiness of the beets but it wasn’t really sweet like some beet dishes. The sauce wasn’t too heavy and their pasta was very good. They have a pretty extensive drink menu, only 3 beers on tap, but more in bottles, and longer lists of wine, specialty cocktails, and mocktails. I liked my Krusøvice Schwarzbier. It was also a nice touch that my sparkling water came with ice and lime - when you have to pay for water it’s nice when they at least dress it up. Service was pretty good. There was bit of a wait after we ordered drinks to get our drinks and place food orders, but nothing crazy, and the food came out reasonably quickly after we ordered considering there were 10 people at our table. The waiter...
Read moreI found this restaurant online an was convinced by the great location and possibility to sit outside. This was indeed the best part.
Food: We ordered pizza and salad. And for persons like us, preparing our own food at home and love to cook it was nothing that was prepared with love. It was eatable but at the very end I was just happy that I managed to have finished my food. Everything seemed like it was somehow preprepared. For me it is clear to never go there again if I want to have proper pizza.
Stuff: the stuff was super friendly but not organised. They brought the cutlery after food was served. Then they forgot a knife. We had to wait and wait. Until that time the pizza was only warm. This may also be the reason that you are served by 4 waitresses and not only by one that takes care of you.
All in all: nice atmosphere but not a restaurant where I would taste a great meal. Everything felt like the restaurant wants to make profit and warms up preprepared food.
No pics. As I did not...
