The gabled façade, with its unaltered uniform construction, still preserves the typical appearance of one of the late-Gothic half-timbered houses, which decisively shaped the image of the town captured in the Kirch-Brombacher Altar in the 15th and 16th centuries. The steep gable that sloped off at the top to form a hat and the curved balustrade struts inserted between the waistband and corner posts as well as the intermediate stands are also typical of the period of origin.The central waistcoat stands form a late-Gothic preform of the man's littering figure. The half-timbered building erected around 1450 has arched arcade openings on the eaves side (long side). In the late 16th century the eaves division took place. In 1708 the ground floor was renovated and theWindows on the upper floors enlarged. Only after the Fachwerkfreiegung 1976 and the reconstruction of the reddish color version according to findings, the oldest known half-timbered building in Mainz can be recognized...
