I’m extremely disappointed with the experience my family and I had — particularly with how my 8-year-old brother was treated.

A staff member named Nayuta, dressed in a black suit (possibly a supervisor), displayed behavior that was both unprofessional and surprisingly rude.

It began when my little brother tried to sit on a chair that was tucked under a table. As any child might do, he stepped up to get into the seat. Instead of offering help or speaking gently, Nayuta looked at him with clear irritation and told him coldly, “This is not your chair.” His tone and expression were unnecessarily harsh — it felt as if he saw my brother not as a child, but as someone unwelcome.

Shortly after, he turned to me, pointed at my phone, and remarked, “That is so loud,” in the same unfriendly and dismissive manner. The environment was already loud and busy, and I was simply using my phone at a reasonable volume — certainly not disruptive. His approach was more confrontational than corrective.

The overall atmosphere became tense and uncomfortable. We came to enjoy a meal together as a family and instead felt disrespected and unwelcome.

This kind of treatment, especially coming from someone who appears to be in a leadership role, is deeply concerning. No guest — and certainly no child — should be subjected to such negativity.

I sincerely hope that management takes this seriously and addresses it properly. Unfortunately, this experience left such a negative impression that:

❌ We won’t be returning — and I would not recommend this...

Extremely disappointed and upset by the way my family and I were treated — especially my 8-year-old little brother.

The staff member named Nayuta, wearing a black suit (possibly the supervisor), behaved in a very rude and unprofessional way.

First, my little brother — who is just a child — tried to sit on a chair that was under the table, so he climbed up by stepping on it. Instead of helping or speaking kindly, Nayuta looked at him with clear disgust and said, “This is not your chair” in a harsh, cold tone. His attitude made it feel like my brother was trash, not a child in a restaurant.

Then, he turned to me, pointed at my phone, and said, “That is so loud” — again with the same rude face and disrespectful attitude. The restaurant was already noisy and crowded, and he spoke to me as if I was causing a scene, when I was just quietly using my phone at normal volume.

We were shocked and uncomfortable the entire time. We came to enjoy a family meal and left feeling disrespected and humiliated.

This is completely unacceptable behavior — especially from someone who seems to be a supervisor. No one should be treated this way, especially not a child.

I truly hope the management sees this and takes serious action. This experience was enough for us to say:

❌ We will never come back, and I would never recommend this...

I am deeply shocked and disappointed by our recent experience at Azuki Munich, specifically due to the behavior of one of the staff members, Nayuta. His conduct was not only shockingly unprofessional but also blatantly racist — a combination that ruined what should have been a memorable trip for our group.

From the moment we arrived, Nayuta treated us with coldness, condescension, and subtle but unmistakable hostility. His tone, body language, and comments made it crystal clear that we were not welcome — simply because of our background. The experience was humiliating, offensive, and completely unacceptable in 2025, especially in a supposedly inclusive, international city like Munich.

This wasn’t a misunderstanding or an isolated incident — it was a clear pattern of discriminatory behavior that had a real emotional impact on our group. We had been looking forward to this part of our trip for weeks, and it was ruined in one night due to his actions.

I urge the management at Azuki to investigate this incident seriously. No team should tolerate racism in any form — especially from staff who represent the brand. If your values include respect, diversity, and professionalism, Nayuta should not be part of your team.

Until this is addressed publicly and transparently, we will be warning others to stay away...

On one of Munich’s most renowned city centre streets, this establishment caters to those seeking a luxurious shopping and travel experience. Its contemporary design, spacious rooms, terrace, and prime location exude an air of sophistication. Nevertheless, in my view, the food and beverages offer poor value. I recommend opting for Vietnamese dishes or salads instead of sushi rolls. The beef salad, with its refreshing and contrasting sweet-and-sour notes, stands out, while the sushi is rather underwhelming—lacking both bold flavours and delicacy. The dim sum, as well as their stir-fry dish, tastes average. The Shiitake mushrooms stir fry tastes painfully salty. Additionally, the cocktails are rather expensive. Furthermore, the staff displays a lack of attentiveness and is not particularly child-friendly. so overall Azuki makes you feel that you are paying for its location and atmosphere instead of good food. Once again, Munich hosts numerous “sushi” restaurants owned by Vietnamese. Many of them lack the know-how to craft sushi rolls in a creative and enjoyable manner, let alone authentically. It is as dull and unsatisfying as any sushi counter in supermarkets.

We had seen the restaurant on one of our walks, and the decor caught our attention, and we made a reservation for the next day. Upon arrival we were informed by the hostess that we had 2 hours on our reservation, which makes the experience a little bit rushed, considering not every dish is prepared in 10 minutes, and if one wants to order the full experience of starter, main and dessert, you have to constantly look at the time. Aside from this, we had a fantastic time at Azuki. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. We had the Saketini and Tokyo mule as cocktail and tried the traditional Sake as well. The Saketini was really great. It had a bitter exotic taste. The Wagyu rolls were to die for and the fried Eggplants were the combination of velvety inside with a crispy exterior. As the main dishes, we opted for the ribeye steak and the crispy duck with peanut sauce, both very tasty. The depth of flavor in the peanut sauce was on another level. We would definitely visit Azuki again. Looks perfect for a romantic date or a special occasion with the family.

The restaurant was recommended to us by the Amex restaurant program, so we decided to give it a try. Service was 10/10 from the start. We were showed a table in a corner but asked to switch to the more open area without any problems. Our waiter (Duc Anh) was attentive and always around when we needed something. When they brought out our food, the supervisor explained all the sushi on the plate. Sushi we ordered was 10/10: - Toro Sashimi (6pcs) - Soft Shell Crab Roll - Sake Aburi Nigiri - Ebi Roll - Azuki Roll - Snow Crab Roll Dessert we rate about 7/10: - Lychee sorbet, Pandan ice cream, white peach sorbet - Black sesame mille feuille with jasmine ice cream (the cream felt heavy & mille feuille not crunchy nor very soft) Not sure if ice creams and sorbets are homemade. Pandan ice cream however was 10000/10!! Drinks: - 0,2l Sauvignon Blanc - 0,75l water - 1 Lychee Spritz Bill was 205,50€ excl. tip. Would come back for sushi, but not for the main dishes or dumplings since they are mostly the same as other asian fusion restaurants, just for a higher price.
