This fantastic Greek restaurant is an absolute must-visit for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. The service is great, and the views are absolutely breathtaking, making for an unforgettable meal. The excellent food is the real star of the show here, with generous portions and artful plating that exceeds all expectations. The photos in the menu do not do it justice! While the calamari could be skipped, everything else was delicious, and we especially loved the zucchini balls, which were a unique and delicious starter. The real highlight of our experience, however, was the wintery lunch we enjoyed while waiting for the sunset on the Acropolis view. It was a truly magical experience that we will never forget. The ambiance was perfect, and the staff were attentive and helpful, making sure that our meal was perfect in every way. Whether you're a tourist or a local, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves great food, stunning views, and an unforgettable dining experience.

Keep away! This was simply sad. Not much positive to say about this restaurant. We ordered two Caesar salads where I asked for one with dressing on the side. Firstly, there was such a difference between the two salads and the proportion of chicken, bacon and parmesan that they were unrecognisable. The chicken was dry as hell... The dressing tasted like a version you could expect to find in a mass produced gallon tank at a gas station. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza. This one was ok for the kids, but the whole pizza was tasteless and soggy. There must have been 4 times as much cheese as it is safe to have on a pizza. The service was tiresome and stressful, very unwelcoming and least pleasant. I confronted them with my opinion about the salad and they just started arguing with me that chicken breast just is dry. Smart move! Good job you guys.... So this is hands down the worst meal in Athens so far.

This is right off Monastiraki sq, next to the metro station. It showcases old paintings and antique pieces and if you go upstairs there’s a view on the old Auction sq on one side, and, of course, the Acropolis and Plaka on the other. It’s great and off traffic for a quiet coffee. We had dinner on the side of the square, a meat platter for 2 and beers. We weren’t able to finish the plate, and, on top of that, they brought us an assortment of seasonal fruits, which we were also unable to eat through. All around the quality was great, the meat was nicely spiced and perfectly grilled, the staff was friendly, and the prices reasonable. It actually exceeded my expectations.

It is very rare that I would write a negative review but in this instance I feel compelled. Not sure who the people are that are giving this place 4 and 5 stars, because it certainly isn't that!! Maybe the food quality has significantly declined in a matter of weeks or days, or maybe they're mates of this establishment. My family and I dined here two nights ago. Whilst the atmosphere and service were reasonable (easily achieved) the quality of the food is appalling. From the moment you sit, they bring stale bread and bottled water (Athens water is great and drinkable by the way), both charged, forming part of the bill. Being Greek ourselves, we know Greek food very well. We shared plates with the most edible being the fried potatoes, and the least edible, the kalitsounia (absolutely disgusting with cheese that lacked quality). The Greek salad was very mediocre, with super market bought ingredients, minimal feta and a lack of real, authentic greek olive oil. As for the remainder much more can be said, but in short it left us with a sour taste. Never to be repeated. They should rename their restaurant as their food does not live up to their name, "Η Ωραία Ελλάς". Avoid this place...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A Perfect Pit Stop at Καφενείο Η Ωραία Ελλάς

After our hike from the Acropolis, Καφενείο Η Ωραία Ελλάς was exactly what we needed! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and treated with the utmost respect by the staff, making us feel truly welcome.

The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the location right in the heart of Athens. We started with sangria that was bursting with flavor—fruity, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. Paired with crisp, ice-cold Mythos beers (so good I had to order a second!), it set the tone for a great meal.

The tzatziki was creamy, light, and refreshing. Served alongside bread that was perfectly toasted with a lovely crisp. Simple, but absolutely delicious.

What really stood out was the energy and dedication of our waiter, who was literally running around serving guests, yet never without a smile. That kind of effort and genuine hospitality is rare and made the whole experience even better.

Καφενείο Η Ωραία Ελλάς isn’t just a convenient pit stop—it’s a must-visit for anyone exploring Athens. Great food, cold drinks, and service with...
